Title: 45x Is Too Small
Review: The 45x is much smaller than I had anticipated and, for me, has very little use. I like that this assembles into a standing unit and has 3 levels of lightning. I probably would not buy this one again though because I was looking for more than 10x.

Title: Useful stand for hands free work but magnification is only about 2x.
Review: This is a useful magnifier and stand combination for undertaking work on small items, such as soldering. It also has subject illumination with leds, which is useful when working on small stuff, but this requires either the provision of 3 AAA batteries (why not 2 AA batteries which would be more useful and less wasteful of battery resources?) or connection to a USB port. A 2′ length of USB cord is provided, but this is scarcely long enough for practical work that either has to have a phone recharging battery to hand, or a laptop with USB port, which is not ideal.The magnification claims of 10x are outrageous. Take a look at the photo with two dimes, one under the lens, the other not. It looks like approximately 2x magnification to me. There is, oddly, a high magnification eyeglass in the handle of the unit, along with a small led for illumination, which can be used for very close inspection of a subject, but this requires hand-holding, not using the stand. I have no idea if this has the 45x magnification claimed.In summary, the stand is useful for low magnification work (but only 2x is a bare minimum) and the illumination is helpful, but connection to a USB port for lighting or 3x AAA batteries for true portability are not ideal. I don’t feel this offers good value at this price point.
