Title: A space-saving convenience when needing to see things larger
Review: I have an assortment of functional accessories attached to my desk — a gooseneck lamp, microphone swing-arm, a device holder where I can also hang my earphones, and now this cute ring-style magnifier. It was a breeze to assemble and to clip onto the edge of my desk which is an inch thick with an inch overhang. The clip feels very sturdy. I do not worry that the spring will fail or that the clip will come apart.Since I have so many interests, some of which are fabricating tiny and detailed creations, I needed to have not only more focused lighting, but a way to be sure that my items were turning out as well as planned. Using this magnifier I feel more confident about not missing the oopsies as well as confirming that I’m placing things where I want them. It is a lot smaller than one I had decades ago, but since I’m working with miniatures, it serves the purpose, doesn’t take up much room, and the gooseneck allows for easier adjusting. Not only that, but in my experience, the gooseneck holds its position quite well, and what a plus it is to have the controls on the cord. I know it is not convenient for everyone, but I prefer this configuration. Plus, I love that the light is adjustable in temperature, but especially in brightness. The light gets slightly warm but never too hot to the touch. So I don’t fear injury or damage to anything in its vicinity. Could the upper end of the spectrum be a little brighter? Yes. But since I already have another light attached to the right side of my desk, I have backup. It’s the magnification that I needed most out of this little guy, so I’m fine with supplementing the lighting if needed. Lastly, the ease of plugging it into a nearby USB power strip is an added bonus that I was hoping to find when doing my search. Up to this point, this has been a great purchase that suits my needs and limited space. I just might buy it again for my daughter’s art cart!

Review: This was a little bit smaller than I expected, not that I looked very closely at the dimensions. However, it is perfect for what I needed it for. I often take pictures of products. I also need to be able to read the ever shrinking package labeling on those products. This clips to the desk where I take most of my pictures and gives a nice soft light that it diffused enough to not give reflections on the product. Plus the placement is convenient enough I can quickly pull it over and check the information on the product packaging, or instructions, or ingredients or whatever is so small my older eyes even with readers is starting to struggle reading. The full diameter on this is three and three quarters of an inch. The magnifying glass is two and a quarter inches in diameter. My mother has a similar one that is big and bulky and makes a bunch of spring creaking noise when you move it. This is a lightweight smaller light that clips on the side of the desk, I can easily just move it to a new area even one handed. The gooseneck it fairly flexible and can be twisted into a full spiral, bent back on itself, positioned in a multitude of ways. I took pictures of some of the more ridiculous. However, it is pretty useful to be able to change the angle by just grabbing it and flexing it to exactly where you want it. And it stays without having to tighten wing nuts. Oh and the brightness level is adjustable on the cord with plus and minus buttons. There is also a ‘cycle’ button that goes through three lighting tones from warm to normal to cool. It has soft pads on the clip so you don’t scratch the surface you are attaching it to. I can reasonable open the clamp up to hold on to a two and half inch thick surface. Much more than that and I think it may slide off. So essentially it would hold on a two by four if you wanted.

Title: Neck is difficult to place where you want it
Review: I bought this specifically for my embroidery work. The neck of the lamp is wonky and difficult to get placed where I want it. The clamp is quite strong and fixes to my hoop stand with ease. I should have bought something else; that neck is annoying.

Title: Works well. The attachment of the lamp to the clip could be easier to retighten
Review: Nice strong clip. Great light and magnification. Power cord is nice length. Came with the elastic cloth on each clip and at first i didn’t know why but it protects what your clamping it to. Only downside on the elastic is it drops glitter all over the floor. The only downside to this lamp is as you use it the bolt gets looser until it comes off then you have to rescrew the bolt on which wouldn’t be an issue except its inside the clip and very difficult to reach. So to prevent that i hold the bolt and twist the lamp until it tightens every so often

Review: So, I keep this by my computer desk, attached to the side, as I am always looking for my reading glasses to read papers and such. The built in light lets me see things clearly, and the magnifier allows me to read even the smallest print on medicine bottles and more. It’s always right where I need it and easy to find (attached to the desk) and is always in arms reach. I hate admitting bad eyesight, but this is definitely making my life easier

Review: The lamp I’ve been using on my art desk is great, but it doesn’t offer as much light coverage as I’d like. This Macasa lamp is almost twice as wide, so I was eager to see how it would perform by comparison. So far I’m very pleased.Build quality is fairly good, and the overall design is simple, yet functional. The controls are located just behind the light bars, which I prefer over cord-mounted controls. The light isn’t as bright as some other lamps I’ve used, but the five colour temperatures give it a lot of versatility. I also like that they’ve included a handy remote control (especially since you can’t access the timer functions without it).The only irritation I had was with the power cable. It comes in two different sections that couple together via a connector. That’s not a problem in itself, but I found the plug doesn’t grip well and will fall out easily. That’s frustrating, so I’d recommend adding a bit of tape to keep it in place.No price is currently listed, but this was selling for $19.99 when I ordered it. I think it’s an outstanding deal at that price and would easily give it five stars. If the price goes up (which is likely with a newly listed product), my enthusiasm will decrease as the price rises. As a result, I’ll give it a provisional rating of four stars.4 stars
