Review: When I read the description of this item I knew immediately from the size of the lens that simple optics would make it impossible for it to have 10X strength. Indeed, it definitely has a much lower magnification level – and Amazon should require the seller to disclose the actual strength of the lens.Having said that, the material and workmanship of this item are of such high quality that it is still useful. In fact, it is so well made that I am surprised at the modest price.Because the lens is much less powerful than 10X it does not enlarge items by much. What it does do though is remove any blurriness very effectively. I am useing it to view illustrations and maps in historical texts and despite its lower than advertised magnification strength I still find it very useful.In addition to disclosing the actual strength of the lens, the seller might consider proviing a storage case for it and charging a little more, if necessary.
