Title: Such a Clear Picture!
Review: I am totally amazed at how clear the picture is while using this magnifier. Its compact, the led light underneath is so helpful for reading. The ability to capture a still shot is great for being able to refer back to later. My bf is colorblind so being able to change the color to read easier really is a nice touch. I love this thing, my mom loves it and so does my grandma who has fuchs disease which makes it very difficult for her to read or see anything. I just wish this magnifier was more reasonable when it comes to price. I know you can’t put a price gaining back your vision but I $70 seems a bit much for me.

Title: Good magnifier but limited as a reader
Review: This magnifier has some potential but I don’t think it is there yet. It seems to function well as a magnifier with a range of 2X to 32X, and the resolution remains good at higher power as shown in the video, but its application is limited by the very short focal range and field of view, especially at any magnification higher than the minimum of 2. This can work in most cases for printed material but the device needs to be very close or even in contact with the object being viewed, and it must be constantly moved in parallel to the text to keep it in view which is not always easy. The description does mention a short focal range. You can set it in a slightly obscure manner to display a horizontal or vertical line, or only a narrow rectangle of text, to follow along a selected line but it still requires careful and constant movement to keep that line in view. I used a cheap cell phone camera to shoot the short video of this device and actually the zoom on the phone was more helpful than this was. Basically it’s a chore to read anything with this magnifier.The multiple color options help some since pages are more legible with some colors rather than others. I suppose the audio assistance also might help someone with extremely poor vision but it is really annoying since it reports every – single – key press. Fortunately, you can adjust the volume down to 0 to turn it off. It can be connected to a TV with the included cable although I didn’t look at that. This device runs on a rechargeable and removable 3.7V BP-4L battery. The description mentions photos, playback and TF card support but I could not find any function for the “camera” button other than to freeze the display and to change some modes. It does not include a TF card and as far as I could tell, does not include a port to plug it into either. This device seems well made but it looks to me like a work in progress. One problem was the location of the lens on the far right end of the reader so most of the device is hanging off of the page at the beginning of each line making alignment harder. As a lighted magnifier it does work but whether it is worth the price may be another matter.
