Title: Design Fail!! Swap Lens Rings To Make It Work Well
Review: The lens assembly is held in place by two threaded rings – one that sits nearly flush and one with a large bezel. Someone, somewhere (likely a distinguished committee) decided that the large bezel should be in the way of the two LEDs that illuminate the magnified area. With a high magnification, there is a short focal length and a small depth of field, so you can imagine how poorly this all works.Solution – unscrew the two rings and replace them on opposite sides – you get light on your subject and a spiffy large bezel on top to show how cool you are. Bonus: Doing it this way allows you to lay the handle on a surface and the surface will be at the correct focal length (and well-illuminated).You’re welcome.

Review: A little tricky to use sometimes and to get the full 40X (if that’s correct) you have to move it around between your eye and the object and then only the very middle will be in focus, maybe 1/4″ of the lens.But it is handy at times and has a decent little case but will have to sew or glue a belt loop if you want that.
