Title: Great Gift Idea
Review: Here’s a concise review you can use:We purchased this microscope for our 10-year-old, and it’s been a fantastic investment! The magnification options are impressive and allowed my child to explore everything from leaves to water samples with amazing clarity. The LED lighting is bright and adjustable, making it easy to see fine details. . The durable build is great for kids—sturdy enough to handle excitement but not too heavy to move around. It sparked hours of curiosity and fun! Highly recommend for any young scientist.

Title: Better than expected!
Review: This is a great item. I love it because you can remove the lens from the base and look at everything you can imagine. Easy to use and very useful.

Title: short focal length can be improved. a good low price scope
Review: I’ve used a few of these types of “microscopes” really magnification systems, for electronics etc. This one was very inexpensive and has some nice features. The only fly in the ointment, or issue, is the short focal length, caused by the metal rod that holds the magnifier/screen mechanismThe rod is too short to back out far enough to see a coin in its entirety. This can be remedied by purchasing a 12mm or 1/2″ dowel rod, and cutting it to a more useful length. You will need to supplement light as the lights are in the optics and aren’t strong enough to illuminate a longer distance.I used a gooseneck led book light that was battery and/or USB powered, it clamps to the stand(dowel rod) and can be bent to shine on the proper area. The scope works fine, The case if you purchase it (I bought the combo) is a tight fit, the box it came in would probably work much better, it took many tries to get everything to fit properly in the case. A larger case would be more useful as foam padding could then be inserted into the case. If you make the longer dowel rod, it won’t fit in the basic case. again a larger case would be better to accomadate the new rod and additional lighting etc….

Title: Much better than expected
Review: I got this for coin collecting, it works great! I honestly wasn’t expecting much. This was one of the first ones that popped up in my search, so I kept looking at other versions but the reviews on them were pretty questionable. So eventually I finally came back to this one, and I’m glad I did! The price was like 35 bucks I think? It’s definitely worth that. The couple of bad reviews on it we’re just people who didn’t take the time to figure out how to work it properly. It’s pretty self-explanatory to use, it doesn’t come with an SD card, but you can add one later supposedly, you just have to format it. This works plugged in or unplugged, and the charge seems to last quite a while, couple hours. Not bad for a screen and a light running Non-Stop. The light is adjustable from dim to pretty bright, enough for my needs. It takes a c charger like my cell phone so that’s cool. You can actually remove the screen with the magnifying glass part and carry it around and use it wherever without the mount which is kind of neat. The mount is pretty light, and the knobs are plastic, so it’s not like professional grade or anything, but it’s perfect for what I need it for. I don’t feel like it’s going to break, but I’m not going to be throwing it around or anything. It seems like the clarity is really good, I kind of jerry-rigged mine so that I can put it up higher. I put some electrical tape underneath the camera adjustment knob and screwed down the mount to it , which raises it another three or four inches in height and shows me more of the coin if I would like. Then to drop it down there’s a different knob in the back which takes you as close to the coin as I would like. Honestly it works really well.I should also say I’ve had this thing for about a month now. I have yet to be disappointed, of course I haven’t tried the SD card feature yet because I have no need. Can’t help you with any advice there, sorry!I recommend this whatever it’s called, microscope screen thing.

Title: So far, so good.
Review: My scope just arrived late yesterday, so other than assembling it and turning it on for a few minutes to see if it worked, I haven’t had time to truly evaluate it. What I can say is it’s really quite amazing that technology has reached a point that a product like this could be delivered for the price I paid. Is what I see on the screen good enough for it to be useful to me? For now I’ll say yes, as I plan to use it on my workbench to do watch repair, so I don’t need something that can handle fast moving video scenes. The scope has the ability to show magnified views in three different resolutions: VGA (640), 720p and 1080p. Obviously, the screen isn’t very large, but it’s sufficient for my use, and the quality of the video picture is reasonably good, especially for the price! The view on screen doesn’t lack for enough light, as the scope has a ring of LEDs around the lens and they’re bright. There’s no shadows in the picture from misaligned lighting elements, and despite just about everything on the scope being made of plastic everything works as it’s supposed to. The entire setup is very light-weight, but it’s relatively stable in use. The base on mine had a minute amount of “side-to-side” rock to it, which I “took out” by setting the base at the edge of my bench and pressed down a bit on one of the corners, flexing the two pieces of plastic used to make the base. I believe this worked because the two plastic base pieces are most likely “snapped” together, not unlike how so many laptop PC cases snap together. The difference on this scope is there doesn’t seem to be any screws in the base at all, while laptops have a large number of screws. So how did flexing the base allow the scope to sit flat? Using a snap-together case with no screws to lock things in place, the two pieces of plastic can move a very small amount against each other when you put some stress on them, like what happened when I allowed one corner of the scope’s base to hang-off of my bench and then pushed down on it. The base probably went into the shipping box with a flat base, but by the time it arrived it must have gotten bumped and the base may have slipped a little, leaving the slight rock to it. Regardless, the base is now flat, the scope is stable and unless something changes with it, I expect to get a lot of use out of it on my workbench. Does it have the best magnified picture? I’m sure it doesn’t, but honestly, for the price these scopes are going for, I don’t think you can beat it. You can pay a lot more on some other scopes and you probably won’t get any better than what this little one does. If you want an inexpensive way to look at small things in a much bigger manner, give this Elikliv scope a try!
