Title: A great help for poor vision!
Review: I got this device for my aunt who has macular degeneration about three years ago. She used it very oftern, so much that recently the battery began to hold less of a charge. I contacted eyoyo about a replacement battery, and they were very helpful. I went ahead and bought two, because I knew how much my aunt had come to depend on the magnifier, and I didn’t want her to be without it. This is well made and easy to use, and the price is still almost the same as when I got it, unlike most items I have to buy today. I would definitely buy it again, and I probably will when my sight gets to that point in not so many years.

Title: Poor quality, Doesn’t last, Nice design, Troublesome support
Review: Update: product lasted only 7 months. Won’t charge. Charge light won’t turn on when plugged in. I’ll be contacting support.Update: Eyoyo Customer Service Manager ended up reaching out to me, explaining that the rep confused me with another customer. The Manager was respectful and apologetic, helpful and promptly sent a replacement. I’ve only just tested it today and it appears to be working properly. Hopefully will last well beyond two months. Originally purchased this product because the “feet” are shaped from the main unit. We bought a previous brand that had plastic feet that had to be flipped open and eventually broke. Also like the size and configuration of the buttons.Original: BEWARE! Defective product. Stopped working after less than two months. Effectively no tech support and no warranty. Seller in China. Refuses to send replacement. Will repair only if I send the item back to China!! Amazon rep tried to help me troubleshoot but didn’t have the resources beyond telling me to press and hold the power button for 6 seconds. When Amazon rep contacted the Seller, Seller refused to deal with Amazon rep, saying they couldn’t speak English and required me to email them directly. Seller emailed me, “But the order is before one year, it is over warranty. If you can return it to China, I can repair it for free.” Seller then started insisting that the two months between our purchase date of March 5, 2021 is a year beyond May 7, 2021 (date of claim), so the warranty has expired. Unbelievable. Seller is rude and accusatory, claiming I accepted a credit of $20 which was never offered nor would we have accepted it for a completely useless but crucially needed product that we spent near $200 on. Seller accuses me of not contacting them sooner and condescendingly reprimanded me for “regretting” my purchase! I notice that the Seller reviews appear to be updated daily by people of questionable profiles and odd, vague and/or unfitting reviews and always 5 stars. Highly suspicious as they have no support whatsoever and won’t stand behind an essentially brand-new defective product.

Title: Excellent value for money
Review: Got this for my mother with advancing macular degeneration. She was no longer able to read with any prescription lenses, so the low vision clinic recommended a CCTV reader. They were pushing a $600+ German model, but we decided to hold off and try what we could find online. So, for less than 30% of the price of the German model, this one performs just as well, with many more color options for text and background, and with a handle my mother finds very convenient. It worked right out of the box (well, you have to charge it up first), and was very easy to use. At this point we have no idea how well this unit will hold up over time, but for now my mother is over the moon with it.

Title: I prefer a magnifying glass
Review: I can’t read a book with it. I cannot tell where I am pointing because the bezels and the rest of the unit is in the way. The device could be made to be the width of a book and maybe shorter. I returned it.

Title: Has helpful capabilities for those with eyesight limitations.
Review: I purchased the Eyoyo YS011 Portable Digital Magnifier in April, 2022, for a ninety-five year old friend who had macular degeneration. Although she had some difficulty in operating it because of her limited eyesight, she did appreciate its capabilities. When in January, 2023, the magnifier was found to be non-functional, I contacted support@eyoyousa.com for advice in restoring the functionality. I was somewhat surprised to receive a prompt reply with some suggestions and questions. After several additional communications, it was suggested that I return the magnifier to them. When I notified them that I had sent the magnifier to them, they immediately replied that they had placed an order with Amazon for a new magnifier to be sent to me. I have received the new magnifier which is fully functional and has a revised manual with improved legibility for those with eyesight limitations.

Title: NO RETURNS, and really only works up close on flat surface
Review: The page says “Eligible for refund or exchange” but it’s not returnable if you think it sucks, which I do.It works well enough I guess if you just want to read stuff on a flat surface. It says the focal length is 3.5 to 6.5 cm but it definitely doesn’t work very well at the 6.5cm end of things.Going to stick to my phone as it’s more flexible.
