Title: Fantastic Book (& NOT Plagiarized)
Review: Okay, so the “& NOT Plagiarized” part comes first. There have been accusations (just read some of the reviews) that Mel Robbins plagiarized the “Let Them” poem written by Cassie Phillips. After reading this book and revisiting the poem, I feel absolutely confident that these accusations are unfounded. Why? Because neither offered anything new; they both repackaged ideas that have been around for – literally – EVER. No one owns the rights to the phrase “let them.”One criticism I read from a Facebook post by Cassie Phillips had something to do with how she felt that charging people for this information wasn’t right; that having a book that generates income for the author somehow makes the content inaccessible to others. There has also been criticism that Mel hasn’t offered any sort of apology.I couldn’t disagree more on any of these things. No one is holding any sort of information hostage. Cassie Phillips wrote a poem that has been shared millions of times and has helped a ton of people. Mel invested a LOT of energies and time researching and writing this book, interviewing neuroscientists, etc. in order to write what has been a life-changing resource for so many people. It’s as accessible as any other book to people who lack resources to compensate authors for their work, as libraries have the option to stock it (and as presumably they will).Cassie’s work and Mel’s work are two separate things. It’s not a zero-sum game. And Mel’s initiation to “Let Them” had nothing to do with Cassie’s poem.I share all of this because plagiarizing IS a hugely important issue that I personally take seriously. Stealing ideas or work is theft. But that absolutely didn’t happen here.As for the actual content of this book, there are plenty of other reviews that you can read. I agree that the concepts can be summarized in a lot less space than this book takes up, but that’s the case for most books in this (and any) genre. I want more than an itemized list of concepts, and this book never felt annoyingly redundant to me.Another reviewer mentioned that the ideas were dangerous. They are, but only if you don’t want healthy relationships with other people and yourself. The ideas are very dangerous to maintaining codependency, for example. A narcissist would be VERY threatened by their partner or child employing “The Let Them Theory.” So Let Them. And Let Me.I hope this helps someone.

Title: Incredible book!!
Review: The concept of the Let Them theory is brilliant in its simplicity. I was raised to believe that sacrificing yourself for the happiness of others. I thought that the happiness of others was my responsibility. How wrong that kind of thinking was!! Thanks to this book, I now know that I have that power within me, and I can take that power back and truly love myself the way I deserve. This book promises to change your life and it delivers on that promise and then some!!

Title: I can’t stop saying let them
Review: Mel Robbins has done it again. And to start this I will say I am a big Mel fan. I have read her other books and audibles, my favorite is Take Control of your life. So I’m a longterm fan I also listen to her podcat. With that in mind my expectations were high for Let Them especially because Mel said it’s the best thing she’s created and OPrah gave it really high praise. I had oredered the book but it didn’t come yet so I got the kindle version here to start reading it, I can’t wait for my phsical book too but I didn’t want to wait because I wanted to read it, now that i’m done I’m going to get the audiobook too. Okay – so you are probably wondering, if I heard the podcast on it, do I still need this? The answer is YES. i just love the book. It covers so much. Way more thna I was expecting? The big reveal of let them AND let me makes this so deep and it covers so many different parts of your life you can use it. Yes you can get ‘say let them” after a chapter but Mel takes the theory into so many siotuations and shares so much research and ways to use it, I kept learning so much. My favorite is the sections about family. I was with my family over the holidays and could not stop saying LET THEM. I told everyone to let them. I told evertyone about this book! They may be sick of me saying let them… to that I say let them. My favorite section of the book though is the part about INFLUENCE. So I say let them, now what? I don’t like how they act that’s it? NOPE Mel says you need to use your influence to make your relationships better. I love hjow in a world where people are so quick to cut people off, leave them behind, think you’re better without [eople, let them is about bringing you TOGETHER with people. It’s such a needed messave in our divided world. I am already using the ABCD loop with people I know. The other sections I liked the most: dating section (was sharing tips with my brother who is currently looking to meet someone) and who you use let them there, FRIENDSHIP section, Mel I really needed that, the comparison section is so important, and most of all I love the part about how to help loves ones who are struggling. the entire book offers such a compassionate, approch that feels so loving to both others and yourself. I thogut after following Mel for so long, I didn’t know if I would learn anything new, but I learned SO MUCH. What didn’t I like about it? Well honestly not much. I do wish there was more on parenting in the book, but what’s cool is Mel has a bonus section in the book with a full extra chapter you can download about parenting, which I already read and that is really good, but I wish there was even more content there. but overall I just loved this book. It’s given me so much to think about and work on in 2025. I also want my husband to read this, now that I read the ebook I’ll give him my printbook when that arrives. Overall this was a great read and I am really glad I took the time to read it.

Title: easy read, clear and useful theory
Review: Very useful theory, down to earth, clear and easy to read. Has helped me in a number of ways. Biggest is personal responsibility just for my own emotions, feelings, life outcomes and how to separate myself from letting others affect me profoundly which is a useful concept. I gave the book four stars, not quite five as one additional piece of information would have helped. That is, how to actually not permit others to affect one and how to ensure we focus only on our own issues and what we can change. Its concept wise great, needs a bit more practical of how to do what I would describe as gargantuan tasks like separating the self, especially if one spent a lifetime enmeshed with others. I think the reason why is that Mel herself likely needs time to consider how to actually accomplish it in her life, although I know she makes every effort, she explains she struggles too and therein lies the next challenge. Perhaps a part two or addended version later with the “how to” in numerous practical examples that are enormous challenges for the codependent which is in essence, in my opinion, who this is written for the most . Still, it is an excellent piece of literature .

Review: This book is so well written. So easy to understand. The concept is so beautiful that you wonder why you didn’t come up with it yourself. Really informative and Mel shares such a personal journey. I can really relate to who she was with her ever present need to control. I am in my early 60s and will be getting my first tattoo soon which will read let me, then underneath will be let them. They both are equally important, and a reminder of how I want to be as a person.
