Title: Effective and Comfortable
Review: Thankfully, there is no cumbersome blue tooth required to use this. All functions are readily available real time. The design is ergonomic and comfortable. The sound quality is excellent, with effective noise suppression choices. It is very easy and convenient to use. The fit and finish is excellent. It effectively compensates for my mildly impaired hearing. I noticed that the ad states that it is not recommended for severe, or profound impaired hearing. This has become my hearing aid of choice. ….Recommended.

Title: Decent, but cycling through the modes isn’t my favorite
Review: These have a nice weight to them and actually fit my ears, so no complaints there. I’m not a fan of the push button to cycle through the different modes and volumes, though. If I want to make it quieter, I have to cycle through all of the _louder_ settings before it cycles back to being more quiet…which is not at all what I like to do. “Could you turn that radio down for me, please?” “Sure, but let me crank it up for you first, then it’ll get quiet.” That’s my biggest complaint for these and why I’m giving them three stars.

Title: Great value for great product!
Review: These work fabulously! The phone is so much clearer. I can hear the dishwasher without having to walk up to it. At the age of 49 things have been sounding a bit muddled.

Title: Good Enough For Trying Before Spending A Lot More on Traditional Hearing Aids
Review: I received these Checkme OTC Hearing Aids for Seniors Rechargeable with Noise Cancelling in June 2024. Visually these looks like typical ear buds that you would use for listening to music but they are a special purpose device designed just for use as hearing aids. These hearing aids shouldn’t be confused with more traditional hearing aids that can cost $1,000+ dollars and your expectations as to what this Checkme hearing aids can be do should be adjusted to the price point they are at. Since these only cost a fraction of what typical hearing aids cost I would recommend viewing them as a first attempt/level at improving your hearing before investing more money. These are cheap relative to the cost of normal hearing aids to try them out and if you are lucky they will be good enough and you won’t need to spend $1000+ for typical hearing aids. These Checkme OTC Hearing Aids are basically just an amplifier. There are modes you can switch the hearing aids into but these are basically preset settings and they are either going to work for you or not depending on how bad your hearing is and as to what frequencies you are having a harder time hearing.I tested these out with a family member that has a hard time hearing. Feedback from them was although the instructions were more in-depth than your typical product, they still could have been improved more. For example there is a cleaning tool in the kit but the instruction’s don’t state how to use it exactly. The other feedback was that it would have been nice if the printed text in the instructions was printed in a larger font to make reading them easier. The hearing aids did improve the family member’s hearing and they could hear things they couldn’t hear in years or didn’t realized they could no longer hear. However there were still some cases where they couldn’t understand certain people. I believe this is due to these hearing aids just being a general purpose amplifier that amplifies all frequencies instead of just amplifying specific frequencies which is what you can do with the $1,000+ hearing aids. I won’t fault this product for this since they are only amplifiers and they are not being claimed to be able to amplify only specific frequencies.

Title: A little complicated
Review: I generally did not have an easy time trying to use these hearing aids. I think one of the reasons for this is a lack of simplicity in how to use them. The instructions discuss four “listening programs” with six sound levels contained in each “program“. All of this is controlled by tapping on the outer part of the hearing aid. Long taps switch between programs and short taps increase and decrease the volume within each “program”. Each of the four programs is supposed to be for different settings, i.e. Normal, Restaurant, Traffic, and Outdoor. It seems to me that it is an ambitious goal to be able to navigate all these different settings adequately on such a small item. My opinion is that an app or an independent remote control of some sort would be helpful if there are to be this many options to navigate. But then even after the effort of trying to figure this all out, in all practicality, just listening to television, I had trouble finding a setting that worked well for me. My inclination is that with patience, these could work for some people, I am just not one of them.

Title: Cheaper alternative to help hearing
Review: My grandma is dealing with hearing loss and sturggling with how it impacts her life. We are looking into hearing aids but they are very pricey. When I saw these I knew we should try them. While not as specifically fitted to her ears, these definitely work to help her. She struggles to remember to charge them but that is not the product’s fault. I recommend you give them a try.

Title: A high quality set of hearing amplifiers
Review: This is a high quality set of hearing amplifiers. For sound quality I give them a 9.5. They run all day without a recharge. They are white and black which is great, if one falls out of my ear it will be easy to find. They have four environment modes and six volume settings. These don’t have Bluetooth. They fit into the ear and are comfortable. There is no bobtail to pull them out but they easy to remove. It comes with a charging case, a USB charging cable, and a AC adapter. Also included are ear pieces and a cleaning brush. I always recommend using OTC hearing devices before spending thousands on a prescription set because these may be all you need, I had a prescription set and now I use OTC types because they are just as good. Also they are eligible for return or replacement within 30 days of receipt so you really have nothing to lose and you will know if these are for you by that time.Note for new users: Start out wearing them for a hour or two a day for the first week and increase a additional hour or two each following week. This will give you brain and ears time to get used to them. Please be patient, it can take up to two months.
