Title: An essential tool for our autistic daughter!
Review: I am so thankful and grateful that they make these! MY daughter is 5 year old and is autistic which impacts her mostly with her speech and over the past several weeks she has been making a HUGE improvement but there is still a lot of things that she struggles to verbally say and it breaks my momma heart that when she is reaching out to me, dad or her siblings that we sometimes give that “deer in headlights” look because we are trying everything we can to understand what she is asking or what she needs and I feel so bad because its not her fault we cant fully understand what the words are. A customer of mine specializes with special needs children and she recommended on of these for us a few months back and after searching and researching several different ones we came across this one and we are so happy we can finally make things easier for her and start communicating more efficiently and quickly especially when it comes to the simple things without her having to repeat things over and over or just answer back with yes or no and just assume we understood it correctly! This has been a lifesaver and defiantly going to help her on her journey of being able to communicate more!!I also love the fact that its colorful and “cool” looking so its not as obvious or outdated as so easy for her to carry with a handle (that is foldable) on the top, the buttons are very easy to push and there is a row at the bottom that you can record whatever you want that’s not standard on the tablet which is an amazing feature and it requires AAA batteries and doesn’t have to be plugged in at all times or require hours of charging to usI cant wait to see how much this helps her!!

Title: Very effective
Review: This AAC device is a thoughtful and helpful communication tool for nonverbal kids and those in speech therapy. It is designed in a way that feels approachable and easy to use, which makes a big difference for both children and caregivers. The preset buttons are a great starting point, covering common words and needs so kids can begin communicating right away. The additional recordable buttons are a standout feature, allowing you to customize phrases based on your child’s specific routines and preferences. The sound quality is clear, and having both boy and girl voice options adds a nice level of personalization. The adjustable volume is also very useful, whether using it at home, in therapy sessions, or in public spaces.I like that it can be used as both a portable device and a desktop tool. It feels sturdy and well built, and the layout is simple enough for kids to learn without feeling overwhelmed. This device encourages independence and helps reduce frustration by giving kids a reliable way to express themselves. Overall it is a practical, well designed communication aid that can make a meaningful difference in daily life.

Title: A lifesaver for my niece, but the price is far too high for the quality
Review: First, I’ll review how useful this device is. Then, I’ll review the quality of the device.Usefulness: This is an incredibly useful toy for my super-smart little niece. At not quite 2 years old, she’s not able to speak intelligibly (she has a disability that usually results in speech delays), but she has a need to communicate that often makes her frustrated to the point of tears. She started learning how to use this device faster than we could have imagined. While it can’t say everything she wants to tell us, it has taken the stress out of a lot of her day, and her parents’ lives as well. She can use this device to tell us when she’s hungry, thirsty, needs to go to the bathroom, and doesn’t want to be around people. We were able to record additional phrases to tell us when she wants her comfort-blanket, or her favorite stuffed animal. We added a code-word to let us know if one of her siblings, or anyone else, is being mean to her. With a lot of brothers, sisters, and cousins, that’s easy for her parents to miss. This device covers a lot of ground with a touch of a button, and worked so quickly for a broad range of things she needed to communicate, that it’s saved uncounted hours of struggle and tears, for both parent and child.Quality:This device is very inexpensively made. It has a plastic case, but oddly enough, the buttons appear to be covered with some form of paper-based covering, rather than plastic buttons. The recordings are fine; they’re made in a child’s voice, and the phrases are clear and easy to understand. Most of the buttons’ pictures are clear in their intended topic, though a few of them are a little bit confusing. Considering that we all have technology like cell-phones, a huge amount of programming power in a tiny device, the challenge of storing a few phrases that can be triggered by a button can’t be that great. Because it’s so simple and the materials are so inexpensive, the price seems quite steep to me. It’s worth having, but knowing how little it should cost to make a plastic case with buttons that trigger specific recordings, I think they really need to drop the price on this item. I can’t speak to their motives in pricing it that high, but when parents are desperate to communicate with their child, they might jump at the chance without regard for expense. As the aunt and not the parent, I’m able and willing to be more critical. Cut it by half and the manufacturer would still make a very nice profit.
