Title: It’s The Best And Most Hilariously Annoying Thing We Own
Review: This may be the best, and worst, product I’ve ever bought. I say best, because this includes buttons that help my child (who was non verbal until three), to express what he’s feeling when he is feeling too shy to talk up. The buttons on this are a perfect size for someone who has small or limited movement hands. The button selections are plentiful, and include common things like “I want to watch TV,” and “I feel sick.” The sound is loud enough to be heard, but cannot be adjusted to be quieter – my kid puts his hands over the speaker to make it less loud. I say this is the worst item only because my child will now sit with this while fighting with his brother, and keep pressing “no. thank you. no. thank you.” over and over. And while watching a song he is particularly enjoying, he will now hold this in his hands and press “yes. yes. yes. yes,” over and over while watching to show his enthusiasm for the music or show he is watching. It is a great item to help children find and use their voice (much like Bingo in the yes/no button episode), but be prepared to find it hilarious, then annoying, and then right back to hilarious.

Title: Clear audio
Review: This audio device speaks clearly in a female sounding voice, with expression. It is loud. You cannot adjust the volume. The size is perfect for fitting in someone’s pocket. It’s lightweight and easy to hold with one hand, while pressing the buttons with the same hand. All of the prompts are useful and carefully selected. The only difficulty I find in using it, is the pictures are way too small to be identified by most people. It may have been more helpful if they were color coded and clearer. You would have to be familiar with the device and the positions of the buttons to really be able to use it well in real time. However, for the price, I would recommend this as a good starting point for some people with communication needs.

Title: Too small and complex for handicap person
Review: I realize they probably do put the dimensions somewhere in the description, but this is very tiny. It is very hard to read. You are buying it for someone handicapped who needs it. It is really not usable. It really should just be larger with like three buttons yes no etc..

Title: As Pictured And As Described. Cost-Effective
Review: This little communicator seemed as if it could be useful for anyone who was having difficulty speaking. So, it was ordered for such situations. The device arrived in 3 days which was just as anticipated. It appeared to be in factory-fresh condition.Powering it up involved nothing more than removing the thin, clear-plastic battery isolator strip from one edge. After that, operation was as simple as pushing one of the 16 buttons which can indicate everything from agreement to hunger to a desire to watch TV. The female voice is neither pleasant nor harsh. It is easy to understand and seems loud enough for normal environments. (If it proves to be too loud, some sort of material could be affixed in order to cover the speaker grille. I found no means to adjust the audio output level.)Power is provided by 3 LR44, 1.5 volt batteries which reside inside a rear panel battery compartment with a cover which is held in place by a small screw. This unit is small at 2-1/2″ wide, 3/4″ thick and 4″ long. (Think deck of cards and add 1/2″ to its length.) It is also lightweight at 2.23 ounces including batteries. Depending on the user, and the environment, it might be a good idea to keep this device inside a zip-lock, sandwich bag to reduce the potential for the entry of moisture or other agents.I find this device to function as expected and, at under $12, to be cost-effective.

Title: Simple communicator
Review: This is a small communication device that produces 16 phrases with the press of the respective button, laid out in a grid pattern. It may be helpful for non-verbal individuals who can’t speak due to medical or other reasons. It is a simple idea, and works well within its limits, but if this were the only means of communication, the phrases chosen leave a lot to be desired.I doubt whether a person who wasn’t able to utter any words at all could use this to function in the outside world, but maybe for limited situations with a caregiver, it could work.

Title: Many useful requests and responses
Review: This device will say one of 16 different words or phrases, each with its own dedicated button. The voice is female, with a North American accent (no accent), in English. The volume is very loud. This is no volume control, so it will wake up the house. The color is baby blue and construction is solid and sturdy. It can be tossed, dropped, or thrown without damage. To use, just press one of the buttons and the voice says the phrase as illustrated by the icon. To immediately stop the voice, just press the button again. For about twelve bucks, this can be a very useful and inexpensive tool for various use cases.

Title: Great Aid for One’s Who Need a Little Extra Help!
Review: I babysit a child with autism and he is definitely quieter and shyer around me than he is with his parents. Sometimes it is hard to get him to tell me what he needs or wants. I found this talking aid device to help with some of our communication gaps. I was amazed at all of the words and phrases this little device contains. It has 16 buttons and each one plays a different word or phrase. The words/phrases range from a simple “yes” or “no” to “I need help” or “I’m hungry”.I let the him use this and explained what it does and how it could help us communicate. He was so intrigued and learned all of the buttons in no time. We use this frequently to communicate and it has made such a difference in his confidence and our time together!
