Review: I got this to read fine print, which I don’t see as well as I once did. Overall, a decent magnifier that’s up to this task.Pros • Clear image • Uniform image quality across most of the field of viewCons • A bit on the heavy side, but that’s what obtains with a glass lens • Battery cover can be a bit difficult to open • The light could be a bit brighter—but this isn’t a serious shortcoming • Magnification is much closer to 3× than to the stated 30×I have difficulty believing that the 30× magnification is a mistake rather than intentionally misleading advertising. For several reasons, it’s simply impossible to have a true 30× magnifier with an 80 mm lens. A rigorous determination of the actual magnification isn’t difficult, but a very simple test suffices to show that this magnifier isn’t anywhere close to 30×: if 12 point type were viewed with a true 30× magnifier, it would appear to be 5″ high, which clearly isn’t the case here. And frankly, who would want it to be?For most people for most of the uses mentioned here, there is little use for more than 3–4× magnification. Higher-powered magnifiers—usually called loupes—have their uses, but the greater magnification comes at a cost. As magnification increases, the field of view and working distance decrease. And the depth of field decreases, making it imperative to keep the distance very constant. And a good loupe is considerably more expensive.If you want to examine gems or the stylus on a phono cartridge (assuming you’ve even heard of the latter), this isn’t the right tool. But for us older folks who insist on reading the fine print, this magnifier works just fine—and I would recommend it.

Title: A Little big but it’s functional
Review: Ok, it’s time to admit that as we age we can’t see the small print on anything. That said, it seems like every room in the house requires a lighted magnifying glass. This one is in my kitchen and trust, to read these blasted labels requires a microscope, never mind a magnifying glass. This bad boy lights up and does the trick, so overall, very satisfied.

Review: We just bought a small globe. It would be difficult to use without a lit magnification. It works great, and I keep it next to the globe. Without it, we would have to buy a huge, very expensive one. I would imagine this would be helpful for students in the classroom so they would not have to squint to see Gaza.

Review: I bought this so I can read labels on medication, dietary supplement labels. But it comes in handy for many ther uses I never thought about. The battery operated lights make seeing small details clear for my aging eyes. It even helps me look at coins with my grandchild. Perfect for those of us who are curious at any age. My grandson was amazed when we looked at a housefly with this magnifying glass. It went home with my budding “Sherlock Holmes”, and I ordered another one for me.

Review: O produto está muito longe de ampliar como promete, 30 vezes. De jeito nenhum. Talvez umas 5 ou 8 vezes. O cabo onde ficam as pilhas fica estalando como se algo não estivesse bem encaixado. Às vezes dá um mau contato na hora de ligar. As luzes LED ajudam muito. Talvez a minha deficiência visual esteja muito avançada para conseguir melhores resultados com essa lupa, mas está ajudando bem.Se o diâmetro fosse maior, para mim seria melhor, mesmo que fique mais pesada.

Review: right out of the box, the build quality is actually great. the plastics feel sturdy, a good weight in my hands, and the glass looks very clear and gives a good magnification.the magnification advertised as x30 might be off, it is more like x10-15.the light ring works perfectly fine, but the batteries are not included. the lights are very bright and definitely helps with the object you are viewing.good for daily use of reading small texts, catching splinters in my hand, and any habitual viewing of tiny critters in the backyard.
