Title: Fantastic now that software update available
Review: I received mine as a gift shortly before the New Scribe came out. It was annoying that it didn’t come with the current software. I was disappointed.However, I was able to manually download the new Scribe software and have all of the same functions.Love, love, love my Scribe now.Books are gradually being released that are designed for the Scribe. Some aren’t worth the $ because they are one page that is simply repeated. Definitely check out a sample b4 you buy.In addition to standard books and being able to add notes, there are books of crosswords, Codewords, Mazes, Sudoku, Logic puzzles, journals (this is the subject area to watch out for because some folks figure they can design one page then copy it repeatedly. Fine, just not worth as much as books people have put more effort into.) planners, etc.The Scribe can be a bit heavy, especially with a cover. For at-home reading I have a simple, clear cover with a pen holder. For travel I have one with a protective front flap. A friend bought a cover that had an elastic band to hold the pen. I prefer the ones with a tray for the pen. Yes, there is a magnet, but I prefer the added security of the tray. I also use a textured screen protector and bought extra nibs. I use mine a LOT so I go through a lot of nibs. I’ve seen the titanium nibs, but don’t know yet if they wear down the screen protector or screen. I’ll wait til more reviews come in.

Title: Buyer beware – Horrible product. Returning immediately
Review: Would give it zero stars if I could. For the grand price of $400, I received a flat plate with the glitchiest display of any gadget I’ve ever owned with a display. It was absolutely horrible. It lagged between pages and when you clicked on something. The new “paper feel” doesn’t feel like paper – It feels like dead skin or plastic gym mat that got left out in the sun and is shrunken. The notebook function, while it does have quite a few template choices, is useless as the display prevents you from being able to do anything in real time. I expected better for this price.Amazon. Do better.If you have epilepsy or a tactile disfunction or just don’t like icky textures and laggy, glitchy screens – don’t buy!
