Title: Safety Reminder
Review: This is a small device that is easy wear with a lanyard (included) or clip to your belt. Once set up it is easy to read and seems to be accurate. I have used it for several years now and it has performed solidly in the Texas heat. It has taken a few knocks and still performs without any breakage. I am able to monitor the heat while working outside, which in over 100 degree days tends to sneak up on you. I doesn’t do the jobs for me but it least reminds me when I need to slow down or take a break.

Title: Outside device dependable
Review: I placed my device on a post outside and every time I go out, I check the temperature against the iPhone temperature. I trust. The WS – HE01 more than the iPhone.

Title: Price has doubled in last 2 years. Still a good product
Review: It’s interesting to note that OSHA announced a National Empasis Program for Heat Stress and suddenly the price has gone up. These units were $14-$16 each 2 years ago. We have them installed throughout our non-airconditioned facility, as temps and humidity changes in different areas of the building. So… regardless of the new price point, they work, and are easy to read.

Title: Nice little inexpensive digital thermometer & hygrometer — but spoiled by an unfortunate design choice
Review: SO near — yet so far…Nice little inexpensive digital thermometer & hygrometer.I’ve been looking for an inexpensive hygrometer that reads in dewpoint rather than relative humidity. Tried one a few months ago, but it was too grossly inaccurate to be useful. This one is VERY nearly the thing I was looking for. When I got it, the temperature reading was about 3 degrees off, and the relative humidity about 4 points off. BUT, it has a CALIBRATION capability! I’m not trying for fine precision, but I do have an old analog unit, another digital hygrometer (no dewpoint), and the setting on my basement dehumidifier. So, I adjusted the Ambient to what seems like a reasonable reading given all my instruments, and now it is quite satisfactory. I’ve watched it for a few days, and I think it is working well.I would have given it 5 stars but for one inexplicable design choice. The dewpoint reading is this unit’s distinguishing feature. (It is a value calculated internally from the temperature and relative humidity). The unit can be set to show the dewpoint continuously — very good. BUT, the dewpoint reading is shown in place of the TEMPERATURE reading! So, you cannot have the dewpoint and the temperature showing at the same time. You see the dewpoint and the relative humidity!! The dewpoint is for measuring moisture in the air — an alternative to relative humidity, NOT an alternative to temperature. So, anyone wanting to see dewpoint would still want to see temperature, but would likely not be interested in relative humidity. The unit can additionally be set to display a heat index (also an internally-calculated value). And when heat index is displayed, it is also displayed in place of temperature. That substitution is OK, since heat index is meant to convey what is sometimes referred to as a “feels like” temperature. If ONLY they had displayed the dewpoint in the relative humidity field so I could see dewpoint and temperature continuously at the same time…

Title: Accurate and fast response to changes
Review: The hand held ambient reader responds so fast to changes, it can make adjusting confusing. I adjusted the reader by putting it next to my home indoor/ outdoor weather station and letting it sit all night. This let the room ambient stabilize,,,ie. No one moving around, doors opening and closing etc. First thing in the morning I adjusted to the indoor temperature on the weather ststiom. It took about three days doing this routine. Temp now stays within about 0.03f and within 1% humidity.

Title: Seems to be Accurate and the price is great.
Review: Once you have calibrated it to the best of your ability, it works just fine. Read the directions, and note where/when the “temp” appears vs. the “heat index” number. My wife keeps thinking that the “heat index” is the “temp”
