Review: I replaced my aunt’s 50-year-old rotary-dial wall phone with a new Touch-Tone one from the only company still making basic phone sets in the USA (Cortelco). The new phone came with a thumbwheel to adjust the voice volume and the usual slide control for the ringer bell, but unfortunately even at maximum it was softer than that of the old Western Electric it replaced. I tried several different auxiliary ringer devices to make up for this shortcoming, and this was the ONLY one that she could actually hear (as long as she was within about 15 feet of the phone). I do wish I could have done better for her (she passed this fall at age 91), but do appreciate the value of this item and the fact that it is powered solely by the phone line.

Title: Just what my mother-in-law needed.
Review: I bought this for my mother-in-law whose hearing is not what it used to be. The first one I received was defective in that the light flashed but the ringer was silent. When I contacted Amazon they shipped a replacement immediately. Great service!This amplified telephone ringer works great. The flashing light and the loud ring enable my 90 year-old MIL to know when she is getting a telephone call. I would definitely would buy another if it was necessary.I have a quibble, though. The blister pack card says to plug the line from the telephone jack into the port labeled “In” and the telephone cord into the port labeled “Phone.” However the ports are not labeled on the ringer. Also, the illustration is erroneous in that it shows the In and Phone ports on the same end as the flashing light. Actually the light is at the top and the ports are on the bottom. It still works well, though.
