Title: Needs More Weight & DIFFICULT TO READ — Donating to Salvation Army
Review: Just okay … basic phone that works. I purchased it to replace the cordless phone in my bedroom so I wouldn’t have to worry about whether it was charged.Pros:- Trimline … doesn’t take up much space- Three levels of volume controlCons:- Cord that inserts into Wall did not fit. Had to remove one from a phone already installed/in use somewhere else in the house.- I got this to put by my bed. Coiled cord is too short. When you pick up the receiver and try to talk … the phone falls off the bed side table. Just slides right off. It is too light to stay in place… no matter where you put it. This is more than annoying.- Biggest problem I have is that I cannot see the display unless I’m standing right over the phone with a good light on. So I still keep a cordless phone in the room that announces who is calling. The caller ID on this phone is totally useless to me.Yes, I know it is easy to charge a phone. However, as the sole caregiver to my 90 year old mother who is ill, remembering to charge all the phones is not something I consistently remember to do. So I want a reliable phone nearby that I can rely on.So, this phone is going into the Salvation Army box.Why can’t anyone produce a phone that is worth having? I’m glad I haven’t gotten rid of my old phones, but caller ID would help. Will have to see if they still make the caller ID boxes that you could attach to phones. It would mean more cords, and another box … but if I remember right at least you could read them.

Title: I couldn’t want a better phone.
Review: In my opinion this is the best land line phone I have ever had or seen!Hard to believe it’s so inexpensive, too.You can use it on the desk, or wall-mounted. It has a caller ID SCREEN, mute button, 2 loudness settings for the ring, PLUS an OFF switch for the ring, a button to dial whatever number is displayed on the screen, and also just a plain REDIAL button. It has 3 loudness settings for voice. This is such a good deal I bought two in case they decide to quit manufacturing them or if they mess up the features by putting out some new model. My order was to replace one (same model) that I dropped several times. (It had to be dropped many times before it stopped working.) I have a second one of the same model that has been working fine for many years. They show no signs of wearing out unless mistreated of course. They do use batteries (four AA’s) but those last a long time before needing replacements. Another reviewer talked about faintness of the callerID screen. When that happens I have found it’s merely time to replace the batteries. I have not had trouble reading the screen otherwise. No “tilting” necessary for example. (This is a later edit: The batteries MIGHT need replacing more often than I previously stated above.)

Title: Trimline phone is junk
Review: I have been using this At&t Trimline corded phone (TR1909B) for about 2 months now. I am sorry, but I can’t recommend this product for the following reasons:Sound quality is terrible both in the receiver, and microphone to the other party. It sounds muffled with very poor frequency response. The other party hears people as if they were talking in a tunnel. For this reason alone, you should not buy this phone. When you press the phone agaist your face, it’s quite likely you will hang it up! The hang up button is flush with the ear area. All it takes is a slight press, and the phone is disconnected. I have had many disconnects this way.The display has almost no contrast and even in bright light the LCD display cannot be read. It does have a contrast adjustment, but it only can make it worse from it’s default setting. Also the display has no backlight. The cord it came with is really short, and cannot be detached from the phone base. It is hard wired in. So, to lengthen it you need a line coupler which will cost you another 5 dollars, and a trip to a electronics store. The phone requires 4 AA batteries which so far have lasted two months, and does add some weight to the base. However, the base is still too light weight. Picking up the phone nearly always causes the base to be lifted off the table and will likely hit the floor. This chinese made phone is of poor quality, and I think you’ll be disapointed in it if you purchase it.No one seems to make a decent handset style phone these days. Really, I would be willing to pay up $100 for a good phone.

Review: I normally don’t write reviews but this phone was worth it. I’ve returned a few phones, not satisfied with features, especially no option to change ring volume. I set this up, absolutely no issues. Can read incoming calls no problem. My favorite part is you have three ring volumes, high, low or off. This was exactly what I wanted. Really satisfied.

Review: I searched in local shops for a wall phone with caller ID and I wasn’t able to find one. Searching online I found this model and as it seemed to fit all my needs, I went ahead and ordered it.The phone arrived well before I expected it to and was very well packaged. It is manufactured in the U.S.A. and is designed and configured for the American market. The cable from the phone to the wall is terminated with a small RJ11 jack, not a standard UK type phone jack. However it slotted into the smaller of the two holes of our BT broadband filter usually reserved for a FAX machine or modem and a dial tone was heard ok. The phone doesn’t need a mains power supply. The phone is a nice design, looks good and feels ok. The ringer has 3 volume levels, but only one (pleasant) ring tone. The display shows time and date (set by the user) number of calls received and new calls, as well as the Caller ID (subscription required from your provider of course).Caller ID works but is shown in the US phone number format e.g. xxxx-xxx-xxxx which takes a little bit of getting used to. The caller’s number can be checked before lifting the handset. The most recent numbers received can be scrolled through and dialled at the touch of the centre button. Only 3 numbers can be stored in the memory which is backed up by 4 x AA batteries (not included) located in the base unit. You cannot store a name against each number, Each of the 3 numbers are stored under a separate key on the handset and the number’s owner is written on the base unit. The phone is configured as a desk phone in the box, but is easily converted to a wall phone by sliding off part of the base, turning it around 180 degrees and clipping it back on. Screws and wall plugs are not included. The chord connecting the base unit to the handset is a little short, so if used as a desk phone, the base may move around a bit as it is quite light. In my opinion, this unit is best used as a wall phone. There are a couple of functions on the phone which cannot be used in the UK, and would be of little use anyway, but despite this, I would recommend this phone for use in the kitchen or bedroom.Update: the main chord supplied with the phone is around two meters long which was too short for my needs. I bought a longer chord from Currys with a standard UK phone jack on one end, however this did not work and I had to return it. I later bought another cable from B&Q with an RJ11 jack at each end designed for a modem and this worked fine.
