Will the straps be tight for me and make me uncomfortable?

No. The straps are elastic, adjustable and long enough.

For average sized head, the straps will not stretch much; so it will not be tight.

Double straps help to keep the eye mask in place securely in any sleep position.

If you find it is a little long for kids, you can pull the nether strap to the neck and the upper one to the top of head.
