Title: Easy to use and lightweight
Review: Good set of walkies for around the house. Lightweight but excellent performance. I use these to call my husband when he is out of sight or working in the shed. Sound quality is very good and they are easy to charge/easy to use too. Have not and any issues with cross talk or static but that may be an issue is more densely populated areas. Plenty of channels to switch to if needed. Headset is included but we are not using those. Battery life is great, I recharge every 2-3 days as needed. Would recommend

Title: Light weight and effective
Review: Nice little FRS radios. The frequencies and ctts codes are in the manual so you can program other radios to communicate with these. So light weight you can wear them around your neck.

Title: Small easy to use basic featured walkie talkies. Very inexpensive.
Review: Very inexpensive, small walkie talkies. Easy to use if extended features not required. Range about standard for 2 W transmitter (~.25 mi in urban areas). Several accessories included (charger, lanyard, belt clip, earphone, manual). Everything as described except no directions on CTSS or DCS codes. Cryptic mention of “programming software” in relation to VOX and squelch settings. Manual is totally inadequate for setting VOX, squelch, and CTSS and DCS codes. Also, as is true for practically all Chinese products, manual print is extraordinarily small and difficult to read. Would have been five stars except for severe limitations of manual and programming.

Title: great walkie-talkie, but not like American WTs
Review: I had very low expectations, having tried other Chinese WTs. These Baofengs don’t have the usual features you get from Midland or Motorola. No display, no Call button, no roger beep, no choice of CTCSS tones. You change channels up/down with the side buttons and a tinny voice announces it.Also the rubber buttons on the side are too easily pressed. I ripped out the rubber with pliers and I can now use the buttons with a screw driver or pen point. The good news is these WTs have excellent transmit and receive, with 1.3 Watts power (according to FCC ID 2AJGM-T26). Sound is excellent. Has rotary volume control, not annoying button-press. Rotary control is also power on-off. A single LED to indicate xmit/recv. And very light-weight only 102g with battery (by my scale). Recharge battery with USB-C. And the WT is low-priced.When you go from one channel to the next, you get pre-programmed CTCSS/DCS tones. For example, if you choose “Ch. 6”, you get FRS 6 with CTCSS tone 22 (141.3 Hz), or “Ch. 8” you get FRS 15 and CTCSS 19. See below. This works fine if you’re using two or more Baofeng T26 models — the announced channels match up. But if you want to talk to a Midland or a Motorola, you need to program the other one to use the actual channel and squelch tone that the T26 uses. For example, T26 Ch. 6 will talk with a Midland set for Ch. 6 CTCSS Tone 22.I found a list of actual tones and channels on a Facebook post, but it was for Baofeng T96. Someone had very nicely tested all the channels and figured out their actual FRS channel numbers, freqs, and CTCSS/DCS tones. This gave me the idea to do the same for T26. However, I could not figure out any of the DCS tones. It is a strange setup, maybe it conforms with some radio in another country (not USA).Remember that CTCSS and DCS are not “privacy” modes. There is nothing private on the air. It’s just a way to block transmissions from other radios that are not set on the same tone as you. But set your CTCSS or DCS tones to Off and you can hear ALL transmissions on that channel, regardless of the other person’s tone setting.Anyway, 5 stars for excellent xmit/recv, sound quality, and light weight.Order of columns: announced channel, squelch tone (CTCSS except DCS as noted), “normal” FRS channel1 ……… 1 ..,………. 12 ……… 2 ………… 23 ……… 19 ……….. 34 ……… 20 ……….. 45 ……… 21 ……….. 56 ……… 22 ……….. 67 ……… 23 ……….. 78 ……… 19 ……….. 159 ……… ? dcs …. 1610 …… ? dcs …. 1711 …… 18 ……….. 1812 …… ? dcs …..1913 …… ? dcs …..2014 …… ? dcs …..2115 …… 21 ……….. 2216 ……. ? …………. 23

Title: So your wife can find you at the swap meet
Review: Nice, simple Walkies. Turn them on, select a channel and go. Slim and light and seemingly well-built. I was able to communicate clearly for a good long suburban block with lots of houses and trees in between. Don’t expect a distance powerhouse, but just fine for keeping track of the kids or spouse or buddy at a crowded event or park. Included are pocket clips and hands-free earpiece and a nifty USB-C charging cord that is split so you can charge two units off one USB port.

Title: Good for the price, but not good for VOX.
Review: Good value, considering its low price. Good range, unobstructed line of sight is about 300-400’. Downside is that the VOX feature doesn’t work with earbud out of the box. Even with the wired PTT button mic almost on your lips with a loud voice, the Xmit light doesn’t come out on. If you use the PTT button and mic up close with earbud, it works, but really only gives you privacy or loud environment advantage. Using them as a simple hand held, they’re just fine for most needs, featherweight and small. USB-C charging is rapid and mighty convenient with its supplied 2 headed charging cord. I use for big RV backing and hitching, good to have someone in your blind spots to warn you. For less than $20, it’s cheap damage insurance.

Title: Excellent FRS Radios
Review: Exellent low cost frs radios. Range is as good and battery life is good to. We did not have any radios run out of power on day long excursions. USB C rechargable, small thin and light weight fits in the pockets well. Excellent value for the money!

Review: Baofeng delivers again when it comes to radio design, features and quality for low cost. These 16 channel slim rechargeable walkie talkies are well designed, constructed and performant.Ultra slim units with a fixed antenna, rotary on/off volume switch, voice confirmation, push button operation, vox operation, earpieces, charging brick and cables; all of it at very low unit cost.If you thought having people carry a walkie talkie might be a burden, the slim and sleek design will have you thinking again. The styling of these is no nonsense and professional.I am truly puzzled how Baofeng is able to offer four complete radio kits of the quality, design and features we’ve come to expect from Baofeng for this cost.Selecting a free channel from the 16 available couldn’t be easier than stepping through one by one with voice confirmation. Your biggest issue getting someone new to the radio up and running is to tell them which channels you’ve decided you’re all going to be using. No batteries to worry about the units recharge from their built in USB-C port and Baofeng provides you with the cables and charges to manage this. The one negative issue I have is with the choice of plastic used for the USB cover flap. It seems a little too rigid for this application and tends to have a memory to stay partly in it’s open position. A more rubbery pliable plastic may have worked better here in the ease of closing this cover back up.For the unit cost there’s little worry about handing them out to anyone that you need to keep connected with. When you need local area communication, leave that expensive personal phone put away where it’s safe and slip on of these into a pocket, dry bag, backpack etc.. Sure it’s not a private network but the ability to simultaneously instantly call across multiple devices with people on your network has benefits in keeping everyone on it informed especially when the cost of adding, replacing these devices is so incredibly affordable as is also the ease of maintaining their charge.
