B00NWMUK0I, The Best Glide ASE Credit Card Fresnel Lens Fire Starter and Magnifier Lenses are a great back up fire starter and will fit practically anywhere. Our Fresnel Lens Fire Starter is small, flat, light and inexpensive. Some practice is required and of course, one needs a sunny day for it to work. We do not recommend the Fresnel Lens as a primary fire starting tool, but as an addition to an already supplied kit. The Fresnel Lens Fire Starter, or Credit Card Magnifier, is so inexpensive why not carry a few just in case. The Best Glide ASE Fresnel Lens Fire Starter is more commonly known as a…, 4.5,

Title: Long Term Fire Starting Capability Plus a Few Tips
Review: This 3-pack of Fresnel lenses are a good deal for the money and a solid product for survivalist, campers, hikers, or anybody needing a last resort method of lighting a fire on a sunny day. These are thin, flexible and about the size of a credit card and will slip into a wallet or go bag without weight or taking up space. A must have in my opinion. Fresnel lenses are a magnifying lens specialized designed to ignite dry tinder and start a fire, but you must have sunlight like any magnifying glass. An important aspect of these Fresnel lenses is that they are 4x magnification compared to many that are only 2x. The 4x will burn quicker and help you get the fire started. As in any fire starting venture, you want the driest tinder possible, and build a small tinder pile (or make a tinder bundle) and focus the light beam to start the burning process. Make sure you have dry twigs and larger woods on hand to build your fire.A handy thing to carry in your go-bag is a couple dry tea bags that can help assure you of something that will ignite in a less than perfect environment.Tinder bundles are compressed dry leaves and small twigs. You don’t want them to be to loose, but not to tight either, because you want air to circulate through the bundle to aid the fire. In a survival situation, if you have access to dry tinder materials, you want to make several tinder bundles while the getting is good in case it rains. If you have some plastic, wrap them up to keep them dry, or put them in an article of clothing and stash them so they won’t get wet.You can see many demonstrations on You Tube.Highly recommended!

Title: These work great
Review: These are just nice to have around. They do a great job as magnifiers, easy to keep in a wallet/purse to have at all times. Cheap enough where you can buy lots, and have them all over the house/shop/garage, wherever you sometimes need one, always at hand.

Title: Very good product! Waiting for a sunny day to try them out!
Review: Great product. Came quickly and was at the bottom of the box with another order. These things are so slim you really have to be careful that they don’t get lost in the shuffle if they are in with another order. All three of the lenses came without any deformities or real aberrations. A Fresnel lens is a flat lens made of a number of concentric rings with each ring slightly angled to focus the light to a certain spot. This allows for good magnification without the bulk of a traditional magnifying lens (if you already knew all this I apologize, but I certainly didn’t). Anyway, these lenses are just as advertised, very slim, very strong, and very flexible. The flexibility is great so that you don’t have to worry about cracking them very easily. The magnification does seem to be right around 4x like they say. The protective sleeves come with some nice inspirational quotes from some great minds and you can see the magnification in my photo. Sorry it’s a little blurry in the background but the depth of field on my phone at that distance isn’t so great. Anyway you get the idea of the magnification. You can also see the distortion at full magnification as the letters bend a bit on the outsides. So, I bought these as just an extra backup way to make fire in my emergency/bug out bags. It’s nice to have something that doesn’t rely on any fuel or that needs to stay dry (lighters and matches). I haven’t tried to start a fire with them yet as it has been overcast since I got them (of course, right?!) but once the sun comes out I’ll give it a shot and update. I’m pretty confident that on a full sun day you could start some tinder smoking pretty quickly. I’ll find out.I try to make my reviews engaging and useful so if you though this review was helpful please click on the helpful button. Thanks!

Title: OK.
Review: Acceptable, but honestly, not as good as I was expecting, so keep them scattered around in the car, shop and bathroom to read small print labels.

Review: Delivered quickly enough. These are very thin and I haven’t been successful in starting a fire yet. As to the quality I really don’t know but they were expensive enough so I’m hoping they will be a good addition to my hiking survival kit.

Review: I wanted a magnifying ‘thing’ to help with reading small-print etc when travelling. Having seen the reviews of these cards I thought i’d give them a try. What a disappointment. Very short range of focus with huge distortion of the image. Perhaps my expectations were to high, but these have now been returned as not fit for purpose.
