Title: Good For DIY
Review: This is allegedly more for professionals, but my install went pretty well. Lighting looks great and because it has Matter support, it was very easy to natively add to Homekit. There is also support for the other smart home platforms. There is a control box that mounts under the cabinets and has a motion sensor. The motion sensor is only sensitive if you are within around 1 inch of it, which is good (inadvertent motion won’t set it off) and bad (you have to know exactly where to swipe). The lights are extremely customizable, allowing you to configure color, white color temp, as well as brightness. These can get VERY bright on white; we tend to set them around 50% and they are as bright as our regular overhead kitchen lights. I’m not sure why they have color support, but I guess it’s good to know that it’s there. Not sure I’ll ever use colors.Tips – so many tips:- Plan ahead! Measure and remeasure your space. Make sure you buy enough wire to connect everything the way you want to. The wire is expensive and proprietary.-The manufacturer says that a 12″ bar will cover up to 36″ of counter space. I don’t think that’s really true if you want even light coverage. I suggest installing lights as long as you can fit. If you have a 26″ space under a cabinet, get the 24″ light, etc.-This 48 watt LED driver will supply up to 12 linear feet of lights. So my kitchen has 5 x 24″ + 2 x 12″ and it works perfectly. If you have more lights, you will need a second power supply/controller.-You can run wiring a long ways if you need to. Because I didn’t want to drill holes everywhere, I had a 12 foot run over the top of the cabinets in the middle where the hood is and it works fine.-The installation manual says to use a 7/64″ bit for pilot holes when installing the bracket. This is not true. A 7/64″ bit won’t even fit in the hole in the bracket. I used a 3/64″ bit and that seems to be the correct size.-You need a wire stripper for PVC insulated flat cables. The wire is not like normal (round) wire or even Romex wire. It has 4 solid core copper wires inside and is oval shaped. It is very stiff. A regular type wire stripper will not work for the outer sheath. Unfortunately, the only wire stripper that I could find for this type of wire is pretty expensive and it won’t work for the inner core wires, so you’ll probably need 2 types of wire stripper to do this in a manner that won’t make you want to pull your hair out.-In an attempt to make as small holes as possible, just FYI, you can fit this wire through a 5/16″ hole, but just barely. If you do this and you need to line up more than 2 holes, you need to make sure the holes are well aligned, or you’re not going to be able to thread it correctly due to the wire stiffness. Otherwise, shoot for 3/8″ holes.-Make sure you check the boxes the lights come in for a cardboard spacer to ensure even and proper spacing from the cabinet lip. Also, make sure you find the wire clips which come with each light bar.-When you’re installing the lights, put both lights in the brackets/center, measure and cut your wire segment, remove the leading light, prep/strip/attach one end of wire to the leading light, put light in bracket, thread wire through hole (if needed), remove trailing light, prep/strip/attach wire into trailing light and then reattach light to mounting clips and repeat. I was a moron and placed all the wires while the lights were in the brackets which is a pain in the butt since you’re basically rolling around the counter on your back.-The instructions say to use the adhesive on the brackets to line everything up, but the adhesive is not strong enough to stay attached while removing the light. You’ll just have to line up the brackets without the light (use the cardboard aligner) and install with the screw then make sure it’s aligned with the light afterwards.-There are specific orientations to the lights – INPUT (power in) and OUTPUT (power out). If you flip these, you can damage the lights. Also, all this stuff uses push-in WAGO connectors. These are supposed to be permanent connections, so if you miswire, there isn’t a great way to retrieve the wire without damaging the connector. The backs of the lights are well marked, but you can’t tell once they are mounted so just be sure before you make the connection.-Because the push connectors are permanent, there is no way to do a “test run” before everything is installed. You just have to install everything and hope everything works when you plug it in.-Remove the plastic protector from the diffuser before wiring. There is a thin, clear cellophane type sheath over each light. It’s easiest to remove this before the lights are installed.

Title: Quality product!
Review: We bought and returned various different under cabinet lights from different brands. Finally unclenched the pocket book and ordered these. These are perfect! Excellent quality, which black and decker is not really known for but really it’s true these are great. The ease of install and being able to cut cords to whatever length needed made these worth the price. Endless color options and the device works with Alexa and other smart home devices. Very bright but can dim the lights if needed.

Title: Better than the Original Version
Review: I have installed several of the “Original Version” of this unit, the ones that come with various lengths of wires with plugs. They worked fine, as long as you curled up the extra length of cords. THIS one is just right! You cut the EXACT length of wire necessary. Granted, you have to strip each wire on both ends to make the connections. I purchased a multi use wire stripper that in one motion strips the ends of the wire. Just under a minute for each wire. Maybe two hours to do the installation. The WiFi connection took a couple minutes with no problems. The Alexa connection was just another minute, and THIS LIGHTING SYSYEM IS AMAZING! You can changer the color and intensity off the lights by just asking Alexa to do it. Or do it on your phone. And I have an Amazon Echo on the kitchen counter that will also do it and show you the brightness, etc. This is the only under cabinet lighting that I would ever use. Nothing else come close.

Title: Nice lights, but a few FYI’s.
Review: The lights work very well and are easy to install. I only have it 4 stars because of two reasons. First, the tape on the clips that hold the wires and the light units isn’t very good. I cleaned the surface before sticking them on and held them in place for a good 30 seconds (calls for 5-10). They still let go after 1 day.Second, it only comes with a length of 25 foot cable to go from light to light. It’s good if you are going only in a straight line from each cabinet, but if you have say a window or open space for some reason you have to detour around you will have to buy the 100 foot spare cable and it is very expensive for what it is. I only needed an extra 25-30 feet so ended up with about 70-75 feet extra. It has an internal dimmer which is nice and can also change colors if you are into that.It also gives to both options of plug in power and a unit to hard wire for power.

Title: Best under cabinet lights
Review: Hands down the best under cabinet lights on the market.Pros: Ease of installation with wiring option to cover any type of kitchen cabinet, quality of lights, works with smart devices, product support. The lighting package has all the things that one would need. Wiring itself is thin with 1/4″ of drill bit required.Cons – Maybe on the pricier side but worth it in my opinion.

Title: This doesn’t nothing on its own.
Review: Customer should know this is just an LED bar.It does none of the things that are pictured or highlighted by itself. It doesn’t come with wires. It doesn’t come with cables or connections. there are zero controls on the strip. If you already have a system, you can plug this into it, but it does nothing in and of itself. This should be stated more clear. It’s just an LED strip with some screws.

Title: High end under cabinet lighting package
Review: Well made components. You do need a decent set of wire strippers for the 4 conductor flat cable that is used between the lights and control box.It took me about 3 hours to install after planning the layout. I used the outlet powering my microwave and was able to route at least a portion of the wiring above my cabinets. Make sure you calculate the amount of wire you need = I only had a foot left.Alexa integration works very well. I did need to call pure optics tech support because initially it wasn’t pairing with my echos. Good thru to them very quickly and they solved my issues in just a few minutes.
