Title: I love my new palma!!!!
Review: Okay, when it first arrived, I thought about returning because of the ghosting and the text wasn’t clear, but once I turned on the high-resolution mode, everything changed! I love it, and the screen darkness doesn’t really bother me. You can just turn on the screen light so not sure why that’s an issue. Bottom line is a bit yellower than the other part of the screen but that happened with my previous palma 2 as well and it’s not horrible. It’s not a deal breaker for me anyway overall I love my new palma pro 🩷

Title: Junk
Review: As a screen sensitive person, I knew in the first few seconds this device’s backlight is unusable. But I was shocked how unstable and glitchy the screen is when checking for flicker. I’m heartbroken that a device like this that I’ve been waiting for provides no future for sensitive people like me (sensitivity varies among people, of course). I’m also disgusted that Boox couldn’t be bothered to make a stable backlight for times where you need it. The volume out of the box on this also almost blew out my ears when a loud tinny notification sound played. The minimum volume on this is far too high and the quality of the audio is surprisingly poor. This device is generally poorly built. Cheap materials, doesn’t feel solid. The SIM card tray felt loose. The case is kinda loose. The buttons feel really loose and without a nice click. It’s just junk and a slap in the face to the base of customers that look to something like this for a usable phone. I’ve had issues with several Boox devices before this (particles under screen, yellow parts of display, touch not registering). I think now I’m confidently done with Boox.

Title: Great for someone who likes to have a lot of control over all the settings.
Review: This is a nice device for the right person. It is very customizable and portable. I love that it is portable and in color. Reading was comfortable because you can adjust the font size. I personally struggled with finding the right settings to make the colors pop through various different applications. Mine did have a broken pixel which was a little disappointing for the price point of the device. Overall, I did not keep the device because it was just not a good fit for what I was wanting. I did not get to try it with the pen because the pen was out of stock when I ordered this, so I can’t speak on that functionality of the device. I will be ordering the Kindle Scribe Colorsoft because I would like to use as a planner and believe that size will suite me better.

Title: If you’re a fan of the Palma, this one is Fantastic!
Review: I love it! I had the first Palma and really liked it. The size, the OS and everything. Finally heard about this one AND it has color? Yes please! I’m a bigger fan of using the Kindle app. It allows real immersive reading (audio book & book) which is what I look for now. It also has a small speaker for your audiobooks so Bluetooth isn’t required. Yes it is pricey but for me it ticks all the boxes I have for an ereader! Edit: Please for the love of everything ADJUST the “BOOX EinkWise” options if it’s too dark or just not to your liking. There’s lots of options. It is not a one size fits all deal. Also I have noticed zero yellowing. I also have no desire to get a stylus or use a sim. This has replaced 2 kindles and and iPad mini. I love ereaders and this one really fits all my needs. If you’ve use a Palma and liked it, then you already know your way around this one.

Title: A Solid Pocketable Color Companion
Review: I’ve been a happy Boox user for a while (Note Air 2 since 2022), and I’ve been waiting for the right pocketable color e-ink device. The Palma 2 Pro fits this perfectly.I briefly tried the Tab Ultra C but returned it, primarily because it felt too fragile. I also agree with a similar point from B. Shamford’s review: a full-sized color tablet felt redundant next to my Note Air 2. The Palma 2 Pro, however, is the perfect handheld color companion, not a replacement. So far, it seems like a solid device with a great hardware-software balance.A quick note on the tech: Color e-ink, in simple terms, involves sandwiching multiple layers—a B&W panel, a color panel, a light panel, and protective glass with a matte film or protective plastic. Manufacturers sell various combinations of these layers, and each has their trade-offs (mainly with clarity). Color e-ink is noticeably darker than just B&W. However, the overall technology has gotten good enough that it’s very usable, even on the Palma 2 Pro, which includes all the layers.I also want to confirm and clarify a few points from Rajiv’s review:Screen Quality: He’s right, there is a slight yellowish tint at the very bottom. I find it’s noticeable at maximum brightness (level 32). At a normal, default brightness (20), it’s a non-issue, and you have to actively look for it. Even at the max brightness, it isn’t terrible, and if you adjust the warm light, it blends right in.Stylus Support: Based on other reviews, the Palma 2 Pro uses the USI 2.0 protocol. This means it is not compatible with EMR styluses (like the one for my Note Air 2 and many other e-ink tablets). This isn’t a defect, but a known hardware difference to be aware of.Price: It is a bit pricey at $399, but that’s not terrible compared to other similar pocketable color e-ink devices with various other features. I agree the pen should have been included at this price, but I’m also not sure how much I’d use it on this form factor anyway.Ultimately, this device is exactly what I wanted: pocketable, durable, and color. As a companion device or even a primary one, it’s a great choice.

Title: Amazing when it works.
Review: So since i got it. Its been a bit of a hit and miss. I use the text to speech a lot. on the boox palma 2 that one worked amazing. This one the boox palma 2 pro the TTS pauses in the middle of random areas in the book. its very annoying. I have recorded this issues and sent it through the feedback. And they have recommended some system changes to try to fix this but that didnt work. They also just sent an OTA update and that issues happens less but its still happens. I love the color and the readability is great especially at night but i jeed the TTS to work like it should without it pauseing in the middle of a paragraph. I still gave it a 5 starts despite the TTS issues.
