Title: Good optical quality but scratch easily
Review: I’ve owned several of these thruout the years going back to when these were Ultraoptix brand. The optical quality, especially for the price is very good. I have compromised vision and find the 4X zoom with the 3″ lens to be a good combination. The LED light works well as long as the magnifier is a few inches away from the object. The only negative is that the lens will scratch fairly easily. I assume this is normal for a plastic lens in this price range. I know all glass more professional models will cost several times more the price of this. But because of these I have ended up replacing a couple of these when the scratches got to the point of noticeably compromising the optical quality.

Title: It really is a seven powered lens
Review: Honest!! It really is SEVEN powered. The light is powered by 3 AAA batteries. I use it a lot. Especially for shopping. while other brands (and off-brands) have claims of 7 power lens or higher, the fact is, most are just three powered regardless of the size of the lense. This lens is really seven powered.

Title: A handy tool to have.
Review: This is a great, little 3 inch hand held 4x Magnifier with an LED light powered by 3 AAA batteries. I bought three of these 12 years ago, and the LED light on one of them no longer worked. So I would say that I certainly got my moneys worth out of it. So I had no hesitation in buying a replacement for it. The LED light is very bright and four times magnification is extremely clear. A great value for the money.

Title: Excellent Pocket Magnifier
Review: I purchased the UltraOptix 4X Aspheric LED Lighted Magnifier for use in my agronomy class. We identify several small seeds and plant structures in class. Anyone needing to see small features in detail or has difficulty reading very small text would enjoy this product. This magnifying glass has helped me to easily see small details which help me identify plants and seeds.4X magnification is plenty for a majority of the things I need to view. Several of the other students in my class have the 7X magnification version. 7X may be useful for seeing finer details. The 4X version of this magnifying glass has excellent clarity, size, durability, and ease of use.The magnification clarity is excellent. There does not appear to be any distortion of plants or seeds when I am using this magnifying glass. The 3 inch lens on this magnifying glass is larger than the lens on the 7X version. The larger lens makes it easier to view several seeds at once. The handle is the right shape and size for the average person’s hand. When I am using the magnifier I slide it in and out of my back pocket several times. The compact size makes it easy to keep the magnifier in my backpack. The pocket where I keep the magnifier also contains several miscellaneous items that could damage it. After 6 months of use the magnifier hardly has any scratches on it. I have dropped it several times without damage. Another great feature of this magnifying glass is the built in LED light. This light is very useful in poor lighting situations. The light is simple to use by sliding the switch on the handle. Another feature of this product which makes it easy to use is its one piece design so there is no assembly required between uses.For the price the UltraOptix 4X Aspheric LED Lighted Magnifier is exactly what I expected. I would expect a magnifying glass with this quality to be in the twenty dollar range, however I bought it for around twelve dollars. I was a little disappointed that the product did not come with the 3 AAA batteries that are necessary for the light.Overall, I am very satisfied with this product and would recommend it to anyone needing to see small things in detail.

Title: This one was a favorite, 4x and brighter than most, with less distortion
Review: Not sure if it’s because of the higher magnification or the brighter light, but I bought this for an elderly woman with macular degeneration, and she really preferred the Ultraoptix over the eight (count ’em) other magnifying glasses I’ve gotten her over the past few months. The single light on the back is bright, but it’s easy to cover it up with your finger accidentally as you are holding the handle , so it takes a little getting used to . With 4x magnification, reading seems much easier for her, and the area of coverage is large enough that you can read text more easily ( rather than going word by word as you have to do with tiny magnifiers. It’s definitely worth trying this one if you’ve been shopping around for something to enhance and brighten the ‘reading experience’ for someone with vision problems. The other positive review I can offer is for the Vivitar two-pack – nice lenses without a lot of distortion, and those have several good bright lights all around the circle of glass rather than one, but … the magnification strength is lower on the Vivitars than on the white UltraOPtix LED model. If vivitar made a 4 or 6 x magnifier (maybe they do?), it would be a winner, because the build quality is higher and it seems like a nicely produced magnifying glass. One note – these all take AAA batteries – not the standard AA. If you are buying this as a gift, or even for yourself, you might want to add a pack of batteries to the order as well — people usually have extra AA in the house — but AAA may not be as readily available, and it will save a trip to the store.

Review: Bargain. Same size ‘glass’ and enlargement as supplied/recommended by NHS. It’s not clunky to hold like the one they recommend, this is easy to hold, light weight, can easily put in bag. Best of all is the price – something like £60.00 cheaper

Review: Die Lupe liegt ständig auf dem Wohnzimmertisch, weil sie andauernd gebraucht wird. Sind die Augen nicht gut genug, wird mit der Lupe nachgeholfen, muss man was winziges wie eine Zecke sehen, dann hilft sie sehr. Ich habe noch die 7-fach Lupe, bin aber fast immer mit der 4-fachen am besten bedient. Und das Licht ist das Beste! Früher umständlich mit Lupe und Taschenlampe und evtl. noch Pinzette – irgendwann gehen die Hände aus. So ist alles viel einfacher, Daumen hoch!!
