Title: It’s OK design could be improved
Review: I am not a huge fan of the battery compartment which is its main flaw. The angle that you insert the battery makes it tricky to insert my rechargeable batteries, making contact inconsistent. It also seems to go through my batteries quickly when using the light. The lens is plastic making it easily scratch if you are not absolutely careful with it. The best aspect of this is the aspheric design making a smooth consistent magnification to the edge of view.

Title: Great for reading small fonts and schematics.
Review: I needed a portable magnifying glass to help me read schematics at work (which can have extremely small fonts). The Carson Lume Series COB LED 2x Aspheric Hand-Held Magnifier and 7x Spot Lens was a perfect choice to assist me with this daily part of my job.There are several things that I like/dislike about this item.PROSThe 2X Aspheric Lens is large and clear. I do not see any distortion (even at the edges) in the 2X lens and the 7X lens.The multiple LED lights are a must for most magnifying lens applications.This item has two different brightness settings for the 3 LED lights, which are properly spread out to illumination for the 2X lens.The selection of AAA batteries (versus an odd size) makes it very easy to keep the LED lights in operation.CONSThere is no included protective cloth case or sleeve, so you will have to get one to help keep the 2X lens from getting scratched up when not in use.The spot 7x lens diameter is a bitsmall for such a powerful magnification.None of the 3 LED lights are located near the 7X lens. You may have to angle the magnifier to point more of the emitted light to the area where you are reading with it with the 7X lens if there is not enough ambient light for you to read.Overall the Carson Lume Series COB LED 2x Aspheric Hand-Held Magnifier and 7x Spot Lens is a very solidly designed handheld magnifier. I give it a strong recommendation.

Review: There’s something wrong with the magnifier. I bought it to read fine print, ——like what’s printed on prescription bottles, instructions on many shampoos and conditioners and lots of other things. I couldn’t get past the blurriness. It is very cheaply made, too. I waited too long to use it and was unable to return it.
