Title: Handy Reader Enhancers
Review: I bought 3 cheap reader enhancers on Amazon as I have Macular Degeneration and was really pleased that I now have these.Just after having bought these, Later, I was taken to a specialised shop in Seattle for vision, as I wanted to find out if there were other contraception’s that maybe I should also get, but a similar range, with maybe 1 item I had missed, and some way more expensive items which I will comment on later.I bought 3 items, all at a great price between 8 and 12 $ each.:1) Carson Multi-Power LED Lighted Pocket Magnifier (PM-33) 8$2) UltraOptix LED Lighted Folding Magnifier 3x 12$3) Mighty Bright Rigid Page Magnifier ( rigid – full page) 8$The first 2 are similar, with the Carson pocket magnifiers probably being my preference as it is much lighter, thinner, and fits neatly in a pocket ( my breast pocket),At last at a restaurant, I can easily flip it out and read the menu, even in dim lighting conditions. I am super pleased. The Carsons also has a more modern look, as it is not so obvious you have a magnifying glass as the Ultraoptix . The Ultra optix folding Magnifier his much bigger, thicker, and while the lense is way bigger, it actually does not make that much of a difference. Maybe if you only had the 2 (Carson & Ultra Optix) , then for reading the bigger Ultraoptix would be good, but read on.For details, the Carosns switch is smaller and more difficult to get put “ON” by accident, but it does have special batteries, which cant be re-charged, so may be more expensive in the long run. Will have to wait and see how long the batteries last. Not too sure if I will use the 2 additional small higher magnifying screens on Carsons often,( at one side ), but if you are not getting a small character, for which you wish a greater magnification it is right there, and you don’t have to lift the magnifying, and hence the light does not go dimmer, (for MD a good light is essential). The Mightly Bright rigid page Magnifier is just great when you wish to read a magazine or a book, as you can see several columns at the same time, and if you are a fast reader, you can skip down paragraphs easily without getting lost. There is no light on the rigid full page magnifier, (uses a Fresnel system) so you need to get good lighting, which is not a problem at home. It is very light, but still does a great job.( I am delighted with IKEA’s small let light for about 12 CAD each!, a powerful and concentrated light on a flexible tube about 18 in long)I was concerned about scratching the big flat plastic sheet, but actually just put in inside the pages of a magazine, and bingo, it is protected. No need to have a special cover.Next and future wishes.I saw Carson ezRead Visual Aide Magnifier (DR-200) at 73 $, but it is not wireless, so having wires linked to say an Ipad or tablet is not on, and it have the wrong connections for a tablet! But am pretty sure that soon we will se something come.I also say in the specialised shop fancy system that looked like a camera above a PC screen, which then was linked to the screen and you could magnify at the level you wished. ( you have the page flat on the desk, and see the text on screen, BUT the price was horrendous! 2000$.A straight small digital camera cost 100$ and a fixture to the screen would do the job at way less!!There were also small 3inx 7 in screens similar to a smart phone in apparence, which worked like a digital camera with a huge screen, and a few add-ons like convert a black print on white paper to yellow text on blue background, but these were also in the 500 + $ range, not that cost/benefit enough for me.Finally, in the shop, there was also a magnifying glass similar to UltraOptix, but where the distance to the page was fixed by a “box” which you place on the paper and slide alond.. This is not something you would want to take out of the house, but may decrease the arm fatigue of holding a small light glass at the right distance from what you are reading. It was also much more that the 10 $ range.

Title: Surpeb Magnification and Well Constructed
Review: I lost my original and missed it, so this time I ordered two of them. Solid construction, effective LED light, long lasting battery for occasional use of light. Excellent 3 levels of magnification and much clearer than the Fresnel style magnifiers. I keep it in a vest pocket at work, and it has not gotten scratched. Very happy with this small, solid device. It makes reading small print UPC labels and product specs (like what kind of battery a device might need, and what the number is on some of the button batteries so often used in small consumer electronic devices.

Title: Sturdy, well made, the 2.5x glass works very well, but the 4.5x and 6x sections are too small
Review: Magnification: 2.5x Power (Main Lens), 4.5x Power and 6x Power | Weight: 1.4 oz – My review: the 2.5x largest glass section is very good – clear, strong glass. However, the smaller sections with higher magnification are just too small, in my opinion, to be useful. I like the rectangular shape, and it that feels sturdy and is a compact size.

Title: Excellent tool for reading labels and other situations.
Review: I find this little magnifier useful when reading labels when shopping as many ingredients are printed in small letters. It is very light-weight and fits well in a shirt pocket. If you do carry it around, it is best if you protect the lens from scratches by using a pouch or equivalent item. It has an LED light operated by a button and helps in illuminating the area to be magnified (yes, it comes with two CR2032 button cell batteries already installed). Due to its compact size, good magnification and low weight and low price…I think this deserves a five stars for many users.

Title: Pocket sight
Review: If you’re in need of a visual aid to enhance your low vision or visual impairment; this magnifier may be the solution you need. It’s lightweight and easy to hold. Fits great in a pocket or carrying bag/ The led light is bright and vibrant, even in a lit room. Allows for a quick glance at a nutrition label or even a much finer look at the dust on a surface that appears clean. All around pleased with this magnifier. The only CON I can see, is that it doesn’t come with a soft carrying pouch or sleeve to protect it when not in use. Despite that, you won’t be disappointed with this magnifier.

Title: Excellent product
Review: – This lens is crystal clear and really magnifies!- the little areas with “super” magnification are extra helpful.- The light is quite bright.- The lens is large, but the plastic casing is small and fits easily into purse or pocket.I returned a larger magnifier that did not work well because of extreme distortion when viewing through the lens. I am purchasing additional Carson units. This really helped an elderly friend who was having difficulty seeing, even with her glasses.

Title: Great Refractor but Limitations
Review: This is a very handy object for people with low-vision, and I purchased several for use around the house. They are not suitable for using elsewhere because it can be marred. The company makes another with a slide-down cover that I’ve used much more often shopping, at meetings, etc. I need 3X magnification, so the latter is more useful to me, overall. One caveat with this devise is that the lower two 4X and 5X windows are really too small to be of help to many users.

Title: A Sight for Old Eyes
Review: This was a replacement and is exactly the magnifier I need when the print gets too small for my aging eyes to manage. The light is a needed plus as eyesight gets worse as light dims. Good product for those whose sight isn’t what it used to be. And it’s easy to carry and inexpensive enough to have several, one in each place I read.
