Title: Works as promised.
Review: Love this item. Use it all the time while fishing.I just leave it attached to my fishing cap and raise/lower it as needed…..no need to remove it.I can now actually see the tiny holes on my fly fishing lures.Makes knot tying much more stress free.

Title: Great for fishing, but a warning….
Review: These are great for my old eyes and make it possible for me to thread tippet into the eye of a small fly fishing hook. My only complaint is that while going through brushy areas these tend to either get jostled or become dislodged — and lost. But, for the money, these can’t be beat and it’s sure better than having to reach for a pair of high-powered readers and removing sunglasses to use the readers. So now, the warning: I’d noticed my favorite down jacket (nylon material) had been getting holes in it, around the collar area. I just figured it was a fault in the material. Well, fishing in bright sunlight the other day, smelled something burning and it was the down in my jacket! These magnifiers, mounted on my hat’s brim and flipped up, were a perfect distance for focusing the sunlight down to a small 1/8″ area on my jacket. I’d been standing still, tying on a new fly and just that 30 seconds of focus allowed the magnified beam to burn a hole in the nylon jacket and begin to burn the down feathers underneath.

Title: Work as well as others
Review: good product but not a 5 star. Be nice if they came a little closer to my face when down. I use the standard baseball style hat and they come a little short for me. They do work well just are not as rigid and solid as I would like to have. They will do the job and when the float down the river I won’t cry cuz I spent a ton on them. A decent value and I think I would buy them again without too much pause.

Title: These make it easier to tie those #18 flies onto the tippet
Review: I bought these to go fly fishing. I normally use a floppy hat so I had to switch to a regular ball cap to use them.I like that you can easily flip them up out of the way once you have tied on your fly. I also like that you can slide them in and out to get a little better focus. I miss my floppy hat but it was worth the sacrifice.I wish I would have gotten a slightly stronger pair. I found that 3x does not work for me late in the day (just before sunset) and the ambient light decreases. Also 3x is not quite strong enough when I am trying to use smaller flies (20 or smaller).I tried to buy the 3.5 x but they were out of stock. I ended up getting the 3.5 x version that clips onto glasses. I do not like this as much because the a more awkward when flipped up. As a result I remove the “clip ons” when I am done tying the fly and have to dig them out again when I want to change flies.

Title: DISAPPOINTED
Review: Bought these to replace a pair that finally broke after 10+years of use. Unfortunately these didnt work for me AT ALL. First of all rather than being positioned at the edge of the cap brim, theyre positioned right on top of my eyes, which just makes everything more blurry. Second, the clip that holds them on the hat is very loose, as is the hinge on the lenses itself. So every time I bend my head down, either the lenses flopped open or the whole thing just slid off the hat. I tried to use them for about 10 minutes with nothing but frustration and finally ended up walking about a half milr back to my truck to get a pair of reading glasses to keep in my pocket. Very disappointed. I bought 3 pairs; one for me, the spouse and a friend and will be returning them all.

Title: Great for fly fishing, but seem to not stay up.
Review: I have two pairs of these. I use them for fly fishing. My older eyes need glasses, and while I have prescription fishing glasses, that doesnt help when its time to tie on a fly.I have tried keeping these on the brim of my hat, but they tend to fall down some, so I just keep them in my waders and put them on the bill when its time to tie.

Title: Fragile ! ! ! !
Review: Out of the box these optics are great. I ordered the “2x Power”. They tremendously helped me with my ability to tie knots, especially with the smaller lines and lower light. I used the magnifiers every time I went out and were grateful for them. The optics are very clear and the clip holds onto the bill of my fishing hats. I’m sure they could be knocked off, but the clip is very secure and does not wiggle, to come off.I used them on 5 trips over a 4 week period, and then they effortlessly snapped in half! I put them in the pocket of my fishing vest, put the vest in my cargo crate, and found the magnifiers snapped in half when I got home. I put no weight on my vest when in the crate. The plastic must be surprisingly brittle! In the “Rating Features”, who cares about “Sheerness”. How about using the category of “Durability”? I would give Durability 1 star. *** maybe it should come with a hard case instead of a nice soft drawstring bag that’s a bit too small for the magnifier.”Value for money” really would be 4 or 5 stars, BUT the lack of Durability knocked it way down.”Easy to use” is straight forward. It’s a good design and easy to handle.**IF** I get these again, they will be placed in a hard case when not in use.
