Title: No batteries and based on my 02/18/14 udpate, I’m sure they are remanufactured, not new.
Review: I bought a pair of these phones and they arrived without batteries. When I opened the back of the phone to see if the batteries were inside, I found a sticker that read “Use only supplied battery”. I contacted Amazon who sent a replacement pair. Again, no batteries. I now have 4 of these phones here. All 4 have the same sticker inside the battery compartment. The response I was given is that I needed to buy batteries because the website says “1 Nonstandard Battery batteries required.” Not sure how the phone can say to use only the supplied battery that I have to buy separately. I also find it interesting that one customer review (Linda W. on 01/03/2014) said her phone came with batteries.In addition, the packaging is a plain white box. Absolutely no printing on it anywhere. The phone, phone cord, base, power supply, and book are packaged in a hard plastic shrink wrap type of material. Not the normal styrofoam these things are normally packaged in. Also, when I bought the original phone package (base and one handset), the display area of both phones were covered with a plastic to prevent scratches during packaging and shipping. There wasn’t anything on any of these 4 phones. There are also a number of very light scuff marks on the phones.While I was offered a discount on the phones, the amount of the discount did not cover the cost of “replacement” batteries. I love Amazon and I am even a Prime member but I have to say either Amazon is taking us for a ride on these phones or they were taken on one themselves.02/18/14 Update. I just spoke with someone at Clarity Products about these phones. She said they should be packaged in the type of box you would see in a store, not a plain white box with only a barcode on the corner. They are shipped in normal packaging like you would expect to find in a boxed product (styrofoam, cardboard, etc.) not with hard plastic shrink wrap, and all of their phones ARE shipped with batteries. These are remanufactured!

Review: I bought this phone for my grandma after intensive research. It turned out to be loud enough and easy enough for her to learn how to use it. The big numbers were also a great plus for her.

Title: Improved amplification, but poor base design
Review: The amplified sound and the numerals on the base and handsets are improvements over standard phones. However, the base phone has a second-rate seating of the ear, hand-held, phone to its base. It is pooely designed so as not to have a firm, positive engagement of the 2 components.

Title: Add-on handset
Review: My clarity E814CC came with a base and 1 handset phone. Needed another so ordered this. Ordered from Mafia Buys, and unlike other reviews I was pleasantly surprised to find the rechargeable batteries were included. Registering the additional handset was easy, but there is a small error in the instructions. The handset instructions say to press and hold the “FIND” button on the base. But the base does not have a FIND button, so I checked the original manual and found that this should be the PAGE/FLASH button instead. (FYI). This works so well, I may order more, one for every room. (LOL). 🙂

Title: Packaging poor; batteries missing
Review: This was a Christmas gift and it was disappointing to find the phones were not in factory packaging and the batteries were missing. After a number of phone calls the issues were resolved and we decided not to return the devices. In retrospect we should have.

Title: Very good for the hard of hearing as well as those who have low vision problems-
Review: I am at the high end of moderately hard of hearing- I find this Phone quite good for someone with my degree of hearing imparimentThe volume and tone are very good, I have no problem hearing or understanding the words, and you can use a headset with it, which is a big plus for me, The dial pad is quite large and well lighted for those who have vision problems. All n all the design and size of the handset seems just perfect especially for the elderly.

Review: I purchased these phones a few years ago. Now one of them has a problem, therefore I decided to order a new one. What a surprise to see that they have a headset jack which is a plus to me. It has a clip that can hold the phone to a belt. Very convenient.
