Title: works well – good magnificaion
Review: I much prefer magnifiers that clip on a hat or fishing sling over one that clips onto glasses. These are replacing a set that also clipped onto my ball cap, but broke after 15 years. The magnification is excellent for someone who wears 3.25 power readers like me! When I clip this product to a ball cap, as others have stated, the magnifier hinges up under bill of hat when not in use. I can see why this design was implemented. One – if the product swung out away from bill and face, the bright sun would be blasting thru the glass and could possibly cause issue with burning something (although highly unlikely). Secondly – when tucked under bill out of use, any wet mist or debris is kept off the glass so I get the design. My normal sized ball cap has not issue with glass swung under the bill (not close to my forehead at all). All said, I do prefer to clip this item to my fishing sling as its easier to view thru when threading fine line thru a small fly eyelet. I extra inches away from my face is easier on the eyes given this single plane magnifier. The single plane design takes some training of eyes – much like looking thru a rifle scope and not closing your less dominant eye. Overall, very happy with the product for its versatility and magnification.

Title: Great for old eyes
Review: Should have bought this years ago. The older I get the smaller the eyes are on my hooks. This product is great and makes tying a hook so much easier.

Title: Subjective opinion
Review: Up front – this is my take obviously formulated according to my personal vision characteristics-While I find this magnifier works quite well to thread the hook eye if I then attempt to tie my knot with magnifier still in place I have a problem -The mags create an unrealistic sense of where the line, tag end etc are – making it impossible to tie the knot-My personnel solution is to go back to my hat clip on glasses and a hand threader-( BTW yes-I have experimented with either eye closed and/ or both eyes open)However- as a fly tying tool I am very happy with it- the trick is to constantly adjust the focus by adjusting the distances to the fly -I am assuming that because the field of vision while tying flies is narrower than the one required by tying knots ( Davy/ Clinch ,etc) it works quite well- in fact- it’s the best solution for fly tying that I have found so far- in short- the detail is wonderful! And it’s taken some of the “guess work” out of tying flies-because I can very clearly see what I am doing – although I do have to be very sure when snipping material- but the trade off is worth it-Edit- two days later-I have to add that after using mag as fly tying tool I am beginning to tie fishing knots with more precision- perhaps my hand eye coordination is adjusting and learning-Next time I’m on the water I’ll try it out -But bring an alternative method in my pack if I need to switch-

Title: good concept, not a good design
Review: Unless you have a very long brim on you cap this will not work. The magnifier folds toward your face and hits you in the forehead. You would need to remove your cap or tip it up, to retract. Tried it on the front of my waders but the distance makes the FOV blurry. Since it is a single lens, for my eyes I need to close one eye in order to see clearly. Great concept but the product has its flaws.

Rapide!!!

Review: Seemed great until I dropped it on the shoreline rocks and cracked it. Now I’m looking through the crack (I’m sure there’s a joke here somewhere) to tie knots. Still mostly works
