Title: A bit overwhelmed
Review: I’m sure it’s a great item but not really what I was looking for. Great instructions but be prepared to read in depth for all of the features so you get the benefit of the magnifying.

Title: My little handheld
Review: For just $25 this mag glass is pretty techy. I am not hooking up to a pc or anything but when my 30X is not enough this little handheld is great.

Title: 20 + year old camera phone technology
Review: Not good…..better off just using a smart phone. Build Quality was very good. Technology not so much, very similar to the camera phone days, 20 year ago.

Title: Good Product for magnification and taking picture, beware focus limited to .5 mm from lens.
Review: This does work nice for magnification and taking pictures. However, beware the object has to be .5 mm from the lens. I wanted to use it to have hands free to work on something small. Since it won’t focus on anything more than .5 mm from the lens it does not allow for enough space to work on anything. I hoped I could set the object down and the free-standing feature would allow me to see the object, but it won’t focus on objects at the base of the stand because it’s too far.

Title: Nope.
Review: As I get older, I have discovered that manufacturers are printing labels and instructions in ever diminishing font sizes. (Granted, it could be that as I get older, my eyeballs are becoming shaped like russet potatoes and can no longer focus properly, but the State of Denial is where I live and I’m quite happy here, thank you very much.) I was really looking forward to using this microscope. Not necessarily because I could view items with incredible detail, but rather so that I could read a prescription bottle in the hopes of not accidentally killing myself. Once I fully charged up the microscope, I proceeded to turn it on and stick stuff under it in anticipation of viewing the most minute of details. Unfortunately, the viewing screen on the microscope itself is a miniscule 1 ¾ inch by 1 ½ inch size, and the image generated is rather grainy looking. Figuring that I would get a better picture attaching the microscope to my laptop, I grabbed the instruction manual to make it happen. Imagine my disappointment when the instructions were printed in a font that a near sighted ant would have difficulty reading. After using my trusty, but old school magnifying lens, I was able to read how to allegedly connect my magnifying gadget to my computer. Unfortunately, the instructions are virtually worthless because they are not written for people who did not actually design the microscope. (Sure, they contain English words in a more or less grammatically comprehensible syntax, but the information given is so truncated and baffling, I might just as well have been reading the ingredient list on a bag of gummy worms.) By way of example, the online listing for this microscope claims it has three brightness settings. Nowhere in the manual does it mention three brightness settings, let alone how to access those settings except with cryptic sentences such as “[i]n observation mode, long press “Decrease Light Brightness.” (The manual frequently refers to “review mode” and “observation mode.” However, it neglects to mention what these modes do or how to get into them. Nifty.) Although the listing claims that the microscope is “plug and play,” my experience indicates that it is anything but. The manual indicated a website wherein one could download the app or program needed to permit the microscope and my computer to communicate. On my first two tries to reach the website, I got a message that the page could not be found. (It was only after I entered the “www.” prefix rather than “http. that something started to download. What downloaded was a program for an ”endoscope” instead of the microscope I had the instructions for, and I never could connect my microscope with my computer. I even went to the Inskam website in the hope that I could get the correct app/driver/whatever. I didn’t get a warm and fuzzy feeling when the website didn’t even list my microscope as one of Inskam’s products. (I’m only hoping that since I had to use “www” rather than “http” to access the website mentioned in the manual that I haven’t inadvertently downloaded some sinister program that will now cause my computer to serve Skynet.) I suppose this gadget will work as a handheld magnifier, but the size of the viewing screen and the graininess of the picture doesn’t get me too excited about using it on a regular basis. Then again, maybe I’m just getting cranky and too demanding in my old age.

Title: Focus close
Review: Husband uses it for his coins. You have to keep it close to the coin for it to focus. Best one for him to know it’s off when it tells you goodbye!
