Title: Good Value and Quite Bright, but Watch-Out for Color Temperature
Review: I like these LED bulbs offered by dalattin. They are quite bright. I would say that the claim for 100W incandescence equivalent at about 1,500 Lumens is reasonably accurate. The price point is a good value, particularly for the 24-bulb pack which I purchased. My power meter shows them consuming about 14.1W at 70F ambient, making them bit more efficient than the listed 15W. No problems with bulb size, and fit/finish are good. I observe no flicker, but note that these are not dimmable.On the other hand, I purchased, and confirmed that I received, the bulbs marked with a color temperature of 2700K, but they definitely are much cooler. I would guess around 4000K (a very good temperature for a working environment, but do take steps to minimize blue light exposure when possible). One star was removed because of this.For those who like to tinker: These bulbs have 26 LEDS, arranged as 2P13S (two parallel strings of 13 LEDs each), with each string being driven by its own MT7606E LED constant current driver (with built-in temperature correction) using two sense resistors (both at 27 ohms). There are many videos on YT about how to modify these so that they drive the LEDs at lower power (lower Watts and Lumens), making them run MUCH cooler and having a long life span. I removed the ‘bulb’ dome and my minitemp shows it running at around 190F when pointed in the downward position. I *think* these are 2835 LED chips which are rated for a maximum temperature of 85C, so are running quite hot — Typical of ALL LED bulbs these days (That’s why NO LED bulb lasts anywhere near the claimed life, even though the chips are quite capable of doing so under the right conditions). With bulbs this bright, you could easily modify them to consume less power and have them last a VERY long time, say at 60-75W equivalent brightness. Have fun!
