Title: Inexpensive for a reason
Review: I just put in batteries, but apparently something is wrong with the connections, so the included LED does not work. In my experience from buying this kind of stuff off of Aliexpress, this is par for the course. And this kind of iffy quality control is likely why they can afford to charge less than other sellers of the same thing. I think a screw may be missing, as well.I used the screw that was keeping the torch holder in to screw in the back of the arm anchor so that u can move the arms up and down. I’m using a deemed butane torch, which is not what the torch holder is meant to fit, so no loss there. And it’s not like the holder falls out if the helping hand base is on a level surface, so I think it would be fine for people with the regular soldering kit.The magnifier should function how I need it to, since I just need a magnifier for some of my tiny artwork since my near sightedness has been failing me as of late. The magnifier arm is not quite as bendy as expected, BUT I think that part may be my fault for thinking the arm was longer than reality. I don’t believe I checked the description for length of magnifier arm or anything while shopping.There is no sleep mode, or temperature control, and I don’t recall there being anything in the description regarding this. Heat output is low since the lights don’t work. I believe LED bulbs have low heat output, though, so if it is a concern, you SHOULD be okay if you get one with working battery connections. I think I may have noticed some oxygenation on one of the connectors, so perhaps if I clean that off, the lamp will work?

Review: So the 3x magnifier wasn’t enough for what I was working on but I was able to complete the job. The 12x magnifying could’ve been a little bit larger and the location made it hard. You do have to becareful because it will fall over. Now onto the good parts. If you are working with small PCB you are good especially if they fit in the clip. I did like the ability to move the magnifier. I did not have issues with the clips and kept everything in place. I practiced with a tiny PCB and components and it is enough for a small hobbyist that does work from time to time.
