Review: This thing is a handy tool for precision soldering. Solid construction, it holds the work firmly. The magnification could be a little stronger (for me anyway) but the adjustable light is great. Could use a USB wall adapter for the power cord though. But if you’re like me, you already have a drawer full.

Review: For all those times I wished I still had my younger eyes and more hands, along came this fantastic setup. Magnifying glass allows me to hone into details, and multiple clips with flexible arms offer the ultimate versatility. It helps hold things in place while soldering or gluing on parts, no learning curve needed. It’s nice and sturdy to help get the job done. Oh, how I needed this!

Title: Well-made, strong magnets, but arm isn’t quite flexible enough!
Review: This soldering station/work station is very well-made and has seriously strong magnets that keep the bendable clips firmly in place. The alligator clips are perhaps not quite as nice as the rest of the station, but they are strong enough to hold all but the heaviest of items in place. The light is the perfect magnification, very bright, and has multiple adjustments for color and brightness to get just the right light for any project. The cord is pretty long, so you don’t have to be right next to the outlet. The work station also comes with a clamp if you want to fix the whole thing to your worktable, but is pretty stable even without that.The biggest drawback for me is that the bendable arm with the light does not have any articulation to the lower part of the arm, so it just doesn’t bend down as far as you need it to for a seated work position. I’m short (5’4”), and I could just barely get it down to a place where I could use it seated at a normal kitchen chair. But unfortunately that meant you could only use the furthest 1/3 of the bottom workplate. Also the bendable arms on the clips don’t really bend that low either; they are just a bit too high, even using the shortest set. I think this was designed for standing use by a tall person, because it does go up quite high. But the whole thing is built for stability which improves when you are seated. So honestly I don’t know how much use I’m going to get out of it, since I had to take it apart for storage. It does take up a lot of room, but if you don’t have room for it in your workshop, you can disassemble it pretty easily by taking off the arm with the hex wrench and store it in the box it came in. Overall quality workstation with one big drawback!
