Title: Great for coins, sturdy, quality, nice size
Review: This is a great, quality microscope for an amazing price. We bought it for coins and it works tremendously. It is very easy to use. It is a great size and is move around as well as easy to store when not in use. We will move it all over the house depending on where were are sitting. It is very stable and holds steady no matter the surface- carpet, wobbily stool, etc.

Title: Amazing magnification, easy to use, only see coin size object all at once
Review: This is a must have for a homeschool family and every other family who enjoys science. It’s easy for children to use, taking pictures of magnified objects for later comparison is awesome! I have 5 kids my 7 & 9 year olds have used it everyday since Christmas. From looking at rocks and bugs to just paper and dust. It has really given them something to look forward to during our school day. It’s pretty transportable only bummer for us is for the extra side lights it must be plugged in (as far as we can tell anyway). The other thing to know is it does not come with the adapter for AC wall outlet. It’s a USB plug in. For us this wasn’t a big deal, but it maybe to some. One other thing you can examine large objects all at once unless you move the object about. It is made to see an entire object the size of a quarter maybe. Again this isn’t a deal breaker for me; the kids simply slide the object about. But to view a large butterfly all at once this wouldn’t work for you. The magnification quality and the easy of use to magnify and see on the screen is amazing. My 4 year old niece figured out how to use it in a few attempts.

Title: Works good.
Review: This microscope is pretty cool. I can see up close on bugs or anything. It’s fairly clear, it’s a little grainy but is ok.

Title: This is a fine, inexpensive digital microscope
Review: I was pleased when I put this little scope together and used it. I’ve been using a small stereo dissecting scope for years but needed a camera, so I tried this little digital scope. For the low magnification I need it’s fine, it’s not so good at the extreme 1200X it claims, but it’s usable at the higher magnification. It may be a plus that the rig has a rechargeable battery that will power the lamps and the display for at least an hour or so without it being plugged in.The focus is a little bit touchy to use, is not a knob with a rack and pinion like an ordinary scope, is a knurled ring that’s turned directly. And it’s not a true ‘zoom’ scope as advertised since it needs to be refocused when the head is moved up or down to adjust the magnification. But, it can be focused sharply and it does have adjustable magnification. I believe it’s excellent value for somebody who wants to get good video or photos of biological samples, or the coins in the headline. It didn’t work so well for what I need to do this time, which is brushing through samples in a Petri dish looking for microscopic eggs and hatchling worms. I’m spoiled by years of working with a stereo scope and find it’s much easier using tools with the stereo and betterdepth of field of an optical scope. I bought the trinocular stereo zoom scope and camera I’ve always wanted. I had to pay nearly $600+ for that rig.Of course the new scope with binocular stereo and big optics looks and feels better. But, for about $100 I don’t think this little scope can be beat for good value if you don’t need stereo vision.I sold this scope on eBay after using it for a few days, added an SD card to it, and got back $80 from the happy buyer. It was worth the $20 bucks to see that an inexpensive, digital scope can be this good.I love my new, huge, trinocular dissecting scope that puts the binoculars right at eye level and has an 18 MegaPixel camera. And, I like this little digital scope fine, for 1/6th the price.I’d suggest it’s an excellent scope for somebody in school or for somebody with a hobby that doesn’t need stereo. It’s ideally suited as the ‘coin microscope’ it’s advertised as, is also fine for anything that needs looking at.

Title: Great microscope for viewing coins
Review: UPDATE: I received the new microscope a few days later. I really like the picture and it’s easy to focus. All the parts were in the box and it was easy to assemble. I have been using the microscope almost everyday, for a couple of hours at a time. The charge cord is short so I use my 6ft. phone charging cable. It seem to work just fine. Last 5 pics new microscope.(The first microscope I received; The post is too small to fit into the base and the threads don’t come close to catching. I tried to show this in some pictures. The base was scratched and item was missing the instruction pamphlet. I did plug it in and tried it out holding the microscope over a coin. The magnified image of the coin was really neat and I can’t wait to get my replacement microscope.)

Review: I was debating whether to buy this or a binocular optical microscope. Now, the latter is the best if you can afford it. However, I thought I would give this microscope a try at 1/3 to 1/4 of the price. I had a PCB with many surface mount components to solder, including 0.5mm pitch QFN’s. In the end, it did the job and the board worked. However, it was difficult to see exactly what was going on due to the lack of binocular vision and the glare from flux (a clean PCB looked great). Managing the soldering tip without 3D took some patience. However, there are two basic levels of zoom (via the keypad) and the ability to focus VERY close so you can inspect a pin at a time (side angle is the best if there is glare). The focus ring is right up front and easy to use. The side lights are a must, don’t get a microscope without them for this type of job. It didn’t come with a power adapter, so I had to use a USB adapter I had kicking around. The wiring is a bit obscure, so I attached a picture of how I wired it up. Also, the manual proudly states it is a “counterfeit”. LOL. In the end, it was a bit of challenge compared to a binocular optical scope but it can be used for even 0.5mm pitch components (though it is pushing it). I think the best would be to have this scope (because it focuses so close) and a binocular optical one if you plan to do more than one board (to keep your sanity).
