Review: My sister has slowly lost almost all of her eyesight, and reading has always been her favorite activity. Yes she does use audio books from national library in Utah, but it’s a very limited selection compared to printed books. The digital magnifier has been a real God-send for her. She has it up to its highest magnification, and can read only one word at a time. Cumbersome, to say the least. But she uses it hours each day. It would be great to have something with that powerful magnification, but was about 8″x11″. Does such a thing exist? Anyway, she soon may be completely blind, so at least she’s happy to be able to read the printed word at all. Should would be great if an agency would pay for such necessary items, but, alas, our gov’t just can’t afford things like that because it needs to provide for tax relief for the millionaires!

Title: Works great for someone with dry macular degeneration
Review: bought this for my dad who has dry macular degeneration. he loves it. easy to use and he loves the feature for different color backgrounds and fonts. He has not been able to figure out how to attach the wrist or neck band that was provided. this would allow him to carry it around. unfortunately, I live far enough away to help him with this. Also, for reference, he says the 5x magnification is what he uses and more than plenty. The product is well designed.Based on my dad’s feedback, i would highly recommend the product.

Review: The LCD screen is LOW-RES. You (pretty much) have to position the magnifier ~2in above target text / page; LIMITED field-of-view; No real ‘handle’ –so holding / positioning it is so-so… Started to RETURN the product –but got message that because of xxxx — it couldn’t (safely) be returned (Obviously NOT CLEAR on ordering website)… I took my old iPhone 10x — put it on a handle — & can get WAY HIGHER / BETTER resolution / field of view / usability… So far MagniPros 3X seems like the ‘workhorse’ — (EXCEPT that 3X should be 5-8x+ options)… (Absolutely) NO ‘perfect solution’ — yet…

Review: Very portable and fairly easy to use. Has very good optics to view print. However, it is way too expensive. It isn’t any more useful than a FREE “Magnifier” app on my cell phone, and is about the same size.

L’écran est large et la qualité d’affichage exceptionnelle, bien supérieure à la loupe Looky que j’ai eu l’occasion de manipuler par ailleurs. Je considère cependant le prix de ce type de produit – même si le résultat est très bon – comme exorbitant eut égard aux technologies mises en oeuvre qui ne me paraîssent pas d’une complexité extrême. Cela rend ces outils hors de portée des personnes aux revenus moyens ou faibles, ce qui est souvent le cas des personnes handicapées par une mauvaise vue.
