Title: Life Saver for Someone you LOVE who has Dementia!
Review: I write very, very few reviews; but I’m making an exception with this product. It actually works and works great. I highly recommend these simple alarms. I have four of them, all of which are the plug-in kind with batteries for the motion detector. My wife of 56+ years has late-stage Alzheimer’s disease. The first one I bought wakes me when my wife gets out of bed. Part of the reasoning for that is she broke her hip a couple years ago and had to have a total hip replacement. I don’t want her to fall again. The receiver (the plug-in part) is connected to a power strip which is fastened to the bed post with a couple of zip ties just above my head. That close to your head, it will just about wake the dead, which I need when I’m asleep. The power strip has a switch with a red light that I can easily turn off to silence the alarm. The red light lets me know it’s on with a glance, even in the dark. The battery operated motion detector (transmitter) is simply sitting on the carpet on her side, underneath the bed. I’ve had it a little over a year and only had to change the batteries one time, just recently. When they need replacing, the alarm sounds and stays on without motion, suggesting something is wrong. When I replaced the batteries it worked again, just like new.Since I bought the first alarm, I’ve purchased them three more times to give me peace of mind when my wife moves about the house. One is sitting on the floor beside the front door to let me know she’s there. They help me keep track of where she is, but by themselves, they’re not fail safe. I’ll explain later below…The picture with three receivers plugged into an outlet is in the hall just outside our bedroom door. The left receiver is for the indoor motion detector that sits on the floor just inside the front door. The one on the right is for the motion detector (transmitter) on the back porch. The middle receiver is for the exterior motion detector on the front porch just above the door. Each alarm each has up to 50 different alarm sounds that can be customized to help you distinguish which alarm is sounding. Some tunes are kind of ‘cheesy,’ but most of them are quite good. I chose a police siren for that one to distinguish it from the other two alarms which have similar, but not the same tunes. I can hear them from most areas in the house. The other two motion detectors are actually mounted to exterior walls: One, above the front door under a covered porch. The other is mounted on the exterior wall above the sliding glass doors on the back porch. Both of them are protected from rain by the porches. if you decide to buy one, you’ll notice that the included directions are not written very clearly. And, they’re written in tiny mice type. I wrote and rewrote them through much trial and error which I included below.I said earlier that these are not fail-safe devices. Because of that and the fact that my wife “escaped” several times before I had our home somewhat “dementia proofed”. I did this by adding another security device inside, near the top of the front door. I finally have some peace and a sense of security. There is also a picture of it on the inside of the front door. It’s also from Amazon (see link below), costs less than $15 including tax. It’s easily installed; it works great, and my wife cannot understand how to open it. It’s simple to open for normal people and would also make a good security device for people in apartments, etc. It can be installed on either a right-hand or a left-hand exterior door that swings inward like ours does in the picture. I think it’s a must have for a loved one with dementia that’s prone to wander or has “sundowners” symptoms that are prevalent with Alzheimer’s. I very highly recommend this product as a potential life saving device.Link for door security device —https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DR9CMGZ?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1Pairing the Receiver & TransmitterPlug the receiver into an electrical outlet and set the transmitter on the floor near the outlet pointed away from you so you can easily activate it in step 4 below…1. Make sure the Motion Detector Transmitter is ON and pointed away from you. (the smaller battery-operated unit)2. Set the Receiver ringtone by plugging it into an outlet and short pressing the lower button until you find the tune you prefer. Deciding which tune to use is the only hard part…3. To activate Pairing Mode, Press and HOLD the Receiver Volume (upper button) for 5 seconds until it sounds and the LED’s begin flashing.4. Complete Pairing by waving your hand in front of the motion detector within 5 seconds.5. When Pairing is successful the unit will activate the new Receiver ringtone whenever motion is detected by the Transmitter. (There is a 5 second delay between activations; but this can be changed to immediate within the Transmitter)

Title: Great detector and receiver with on/off switches and a short alarm
Review: This motion detector and receiver work great! The features I needed were: 1. The sensor and monitor each have an on/off switch 2. The monitor only rings once when the detector is triggered. The detector works like I expect it to. Other monitors I tried ring for at least 10-15 seconds after the sensor is triggered, and there’s no on/off switch to stop it. If you need a longer alarm, this device is not for you. I use the detector under the bed of an elderly family member to alert me when they step out of bed at night. I do not want an alarm going off for 10-15 seconds in the middle of the night. The detector and receiver run on batteries, or you can use their USB ports to plug each into a separate outlet. (My receiver is not a plug-in receiver.) At the lowest volume setting, the receiver vibrates with no sound, but you still get the visual alert with the LED lights.

Title: Perfect to for Alert Movement of Elderly/Seniors!
Review: This was perfect for what we needed! We needed something to alert us if mom was trying to get out of bed to walk because she is very wobbly-especially at night. This fit the bill! It is inexpensive and easy to plug in and start working. We put the alarm in the den, and the motion detector just under the edge of her bedside stand. It works like a charm. The bell alarm is in another room so it doesn’t startle her, and is loud enough to alert us that she’s on the move.

Title: Works well, but some bad design decisions
Review: This works well, but be aware, the battery powered remote version has no way to plug it in, so by ordering battery version you’re committed. Also, no on/off switch which compounds the problem.Another issue: the ringtone/volume adjustments are somewhat badly designed. There are two sets of buttons on the remote. The bottom one, an up/down switch, moves through a bunch of different ringtones, and the other one rotates through no volume to full volume, in 4 steps. Unfotunately, it is really easy to touch the ringtone toggle and switch ringtones. Seems like you’d want to set it once and then not mess with it, so having such an easy to press button for this function encourages constant accidental changes. The other, more problematic issue is that there is not much choice at the lower sound levels- you have silent, sort of loud, pretty loud, and very loud. it would be better if there were more than 4 volume options, and therefore more choice at the bottom end of the volume scale. That being said, it works well, and is very helpful, and I’ve found that if you keep the remote face down on a piece of fabric, it muffles the sound somewhat, making a slightly lower lowest volume.

Title: Doesn’t work awesome in the dark.
Review: I bought this for the purpose of using for my overnights. Just letting you know that that is not the intended purpose for this specific product. All through the night it would go off while my client was sound asleep, and i mean ALL NIGHT… seriously. So if your thought is to use this day-time and night-time, I recommend you try something else. That being said, it works excellent for day-time!! The additional choice of how far you want the sensors to reach is a wonderful touch!! Loved this product for day-time use! NOT GOOD NIGHT VISION.

Review: Great product that fulfilled the need to be alerted when my elderly father got up. Unfortunately, after continously using it for 3 months, the alarm has stopped working. The motion sensor lights up but no alarm. Changed batteries to no avail. Checking the alarm by changing volume indicates it’s fine itself. Seems like no signal is being transferred between the 2 devices. Great product but didn’t last.Edit: Turns out that the alarm stops working before the batteries die.. changed the batteries in both devices and it works fine
