Title: Great Smoke Detector
Review: Good price for product. Super easy to install and peace of mind that you won’t have to worry for 10 years about replacing the battery. I ended up ordering several of them for my home. The functionality test is easy to perform and sound volume is very high. Hope I never have to find out how effective they actually perform in case of a fire.

Title: Great 10 yr smoke detector
Review: I was looking for a 10-year smoke detector that had a lithium battery since I am tired of changing out the 9 volt batteries every year. My other smoke detectors are also carbon monoxide combos and they are good for 10 years so everything will expire in 2035. It was easy to install. I could use the previous screws from my other first alert smoke detector but you have to use the new circular frame that comes with it or you won’t be able to activate it properly.

Title: There is a NO RETURN policy on these smoke detector
Review: 1 of the 5 I purchased didn’t work. I found out the hard way that there is a NO RETURN policy on these smoke detectors.There is a yellow tab that you have to pull on and remove to activate these smoke detectors. After fooling around with it for awhile, I discovered that the mechanism associated with this pull tab did not activate the detector.I pushed and tapped on the mechanism, and finally got the satisfying CHIRP. It now works.So if you find that one of your smoke detectors does not activate, play around with those plastic pieces where the yellow tab was located.

Title: Easy Installation – Fits Older Model First Alert Bracket
Review: This model SM110 alarm was easy to install and activate, using a previously installed mounting bracket for an earlier First Alert model A710. This is important for me, because I am an older adult (age 70+) and not keen on standing on a stepladder with a drill or screwdriver.My old smoke alarm was installed by a contractor 12 years ago, so its mounting bracket was properly and firmly attached, but the alarm was also past its end of life. This time around, I wanted an alarm with a sealed, 10-year battery.Although the SM110 is shaped somewhat differently, the base turned out to be the same circumference as the earlier model. This model was easy to fit into the older bracket, and to activate by pulling the yellow tab. However, due to the location of the locking tabs along the side of the base, the orientation of the alarm is slightly different. My alarm was mounted on the wall over my bedroom door. The new alarm fits, but is not quite vertically oriented.This doesn’t affect the function of the alarm. It shouldn’t, since these alarms can also be mounted on the ceiling, so other than aesthetics, the orientation of the alarm when mounted shouldn’t matter. In any case, I tested and the alarm definitely is working.Note: I recommend wearing earplugs when testing — the alarm is very loud and piercing! Quite unpleasant, but I’m a sound sleeper, so in case of fire loud is good.Also, there’s a little embedded green LED light to show that the alarm is active, but it is almost impossible to see.

Title: NO MORE CHIRPING SMOKE DETECTORS!
Review: I fell in love with this townhome the minute I stepped into it both bedrooms have vaulted ceilings and that’s where they put the smoke alarms for those two bedrooms in the vault along the ceiling. You need extremely long tall ladders to reach them. they were supposed to last forever when you talk to contract people who understand wiring, etc. they tell you these have a 10 year lifespan. Mine died pretty recently. What happened was they couldn’t keep batteries that every time I put a 9 V in they died so I replaced them with these brand new ones and I absolutely love them supposed to also have a 10 year lifespan and there’s no wiring and no place to put a batteries you just put them in your ceiling and I know they work i’m a little crispy toast didn’t mean to test it, but at least I know they work.

Title: WORTHLESS PIECE OF GARBAGE NOT FIRST ALERT
Review: It arrived in a brown box Not First Alert packaging. That was first signal. Somof course when I went to test it to see if actually works it doesn’t. And it makes sense all the used smoke alarms being thrown out because the batteries can’t be replaced people have to buy “new”. I should’ve paid attention to reviews here because I can’t get money back can’t return this worthless pice of crap! Not happy at all. This is Not new and the battery is not a First Alert battery like my older model I have to replace and will be buying at a hardware store near me!

Review: Works great. I have seen people say it doesn’t work but, it clearly states in the instructions that the battery will not activate until it is placed in the mount. Once that is done assuming you have removed the yellow activation tab. The unit will beep. Then it is active. You can remove it from the mount at anytime and it will still be active. Also. I’ve seen negative reviews stating that it doesn’t line up straight with the mount. You have to turn it until it locks in perfectly. It can be placed in the slots every quarter turn. I have found no faults with this unit so far. Everything works as described. Please read the instructions provided.
