Title: Easy to install and functional.
Review: I use these to help get up into attic. Work well and can flip up out of the way. They’re sturdy and well mfg’d.

Title: Because its mounting base was narrow, I did not need to modify the door frame to mount.
Review: This item was exactly as advertised. Arrived quickly and installed quickly w/ no problem. Although I required no help the supplier provided a nice, enclosed card informing that if I did have an issue to contact them and they would help anyway they could. I would highly recommend this item, particularly if your space to mount flat is limited, as its base fit nicely in the 1.5″ flat that I had to work with in the door frame.

Title: Very sturdy
Review: I LOVE this! It’s small but sturdy & strong. I used the screws that came with it, but be sure to install into a stud! I’m over 200lbs and it supports me easily. I love that it flips up and out of the way

Title: Perfectly suited for doorway application but DOES NOT self-fold into an upright position
Review: My parents moved in with us a year ago, at the age of 87, which brought about a flurry of grab bar purchases and installations in various locations and of various designs depending on what was most appropriate for each application. This particular bar was mounted in the doorway (on the doorway frame) between the porch and the kitchen to assist with getting up and down the one step between the rooms. The step is a bit higher/steeper than it should be, just enough to make it even more challenging and in need of an assistive grab bar. We didn’t want anything that would statically stick out too far, encroach into the doorway space and impede moving large items in and out, such as furniture or possibly an ambulance cot, etc. This little (but strong) grab bar fit our requirements very well. HOWEVER, it NEVER did flip up by itself when not in use, its internal magnet not nearly strong enough to accomplish that. That was a major disappointment at first. On the other hand, having it up against the threshold and not visible (for the most part) can put it “out of sight, out of mind” of the very people who most need to be using it. My parents did have to be reminded that it was there in the beginning, but it eventually stuck with them, and they learned to use it consistently, very grateful for the assistance it provided (especially when going UP the step).Though its internal magnet is not strong enough to pull the little grab bar upright on its own, once it is manually put in that vertical position, the magnet IS strong enough to keep the bar vertical and out of the way until someone again pulls it down to use it.All-in-all, despite its inability to “home itself”, I am deducting only one star due to the following qualities this grab bar does have going for it. I also recommend it for the same reasons.**Its small, unobtrusive size**Its favorable design and function for use in tight spaces and doorways**Its rock-solid stability when installed on a doorway frame or other wall stud, using screws that are appropriate for the task. (Hubby ditched the screws that were included and used screws he had on hand that were stronger, longer and better suited to the force that is applied when an adult uses the bar to pull their weight up a step.)**Its relatively low price for an assistive mobility device(There is another version of this same type of grab bar now being sold here on Amazon that uses a spring [vs a magnet] to supposedly flip itself up automatically when the user lets go of it. It is the only one of this bar style that I was able to find here that uses a spring. I intended to buy another of these little fold-up grab bars to mount right outside our new walk-in shower to provide one more stable bar to grab onto when stepping from the shower to the bathroom floor. I decided on another type of bar but am curious as to whether the spring-loaded version of this bar actually succeeds in folding itself up.)

Title: Good safety handle for one step.
Review: Good safety handle on our garage step. Added to help me step safely down a step onto the garage floor. It can be folded flatter when not in use. Easy to install and seems stable.

Title: Design quality not as expected
Review: The design quality was not up to what I expected given the price and that it is a safety related product. I kept it because it is the only such item I have found, however I did make some slight changes:- There was some side to side slop so I added a thin washer to the handle stem.- The 1/4″ handle stem attachment screw was unnecessarily short and I was concerned it would back out over time so I replaced it with a 3/8″ screw and as added protection I added a drop of thread lock compound. One other thing to note is the instructions show it mounted on a solid wood surface. It should have a warning that if it is to be mounted on a wall to be sure that it is anchored into the wall stud.

Title: Perfect for our wide doorway
Review: Perfect for our wide doorway with a step down. We place one on each side of a five foot wide doorway leading into our kitchen. After my surgery I would not have been able to navigate the step without these handles. They are steady, easy to install and very functional They fold up nicely when you don’t need them and were perfect solution for maintaining my independence.

Review: As grab bars and these things go, this is a great little thing, little costly if you ask me, but, worth the extra due to them not sticking out a mile when obviously not in use, as you can put them up, secondly, like I mentioned in another product review for something else, this doesnt have the “NHS” look about it, so, blends in.Really solid when fixed (I put 2 on my mams staircase, one at the top and one at the bottom newel posts for when she’s hopping on-off the stair lift), comes with good quality fixings… I put 4 2mm pilot holes in each newel before screwing and the screws just went in (With just a bit of pressure) with no camming out of the screwhead when driving them home.Again, the only let down is, I do think they are priced slightly too high, but then, it is what it is, if it wasnt for the fact they are really a good idea, well built and no mucking about when fixing, you can let that slide.

Review: Purchased for my father inlaw as he didn’t like the look of traditional handles. This is more discrete and folds out the way when not required. Easy use to flip back down when needed. Easy to fit and has lasted well. Great product.
