Title: Good quality, easy to wear.
Review: Hearing aids can take a week or two, sometimes longer, to get used to. Frankly, these were not working so well for me at first. To be fair, I put off writing this review for two weeks to see if things sorted out. I was having difficulty hearing voices clearly in a “bright” room, one that tends to have multi-path reception (a complicated way of saying hard surfaces in the room causing sound to reflect causing little echoes). Now, two weeks later I’m ready. So here goes! These are comfortable to wear and easy to put on and take off. They turn on when lifted out of the case and turn back off when placed back in the case for charging. They are larger than the average tiny hearing aid, but don’t feel large while wearing. I find them easiest to put on, especially with my off hand, by holding the little earpiece and guiding that into place first, then hang the “body” of the hearing aid over the ear. These are certainly easier to deal with than those tiny hearing aids when you have older fumble fingers! The case has a built-in battery for charging on the go. In normal “plugged in” use, it will charge the hearing aid batteries and then when finished, it switches to a maintenance mode where it dehumidifies the hearing aids as well – smart. When setting the hearing aids up with the smart phone app, it gives you the option to input an audiogram from an audiologist, or you can choose to take the app’s hearing test in a quiet spot. As I mentioned earlier, I was having some difficulty hearing conversation well. I had input a year-old audiogram instead of taking the in-app test. After a couple of weeks, I repeated the set-up using the application, but this time I chose the built-in hearing test – Yippee! Much, much better! When opening the Flysound app, these will be listed as “Hearing Aid H8”. If you have another Flysound app-compatible hearing aid, that will be listed also, so you can select which hearing aid you will be using. With more than one set of hearing aids listed, hearing test results from audiogram or app hearing test will be individually retained for each pair of hearing aids. These are convenient to use; they even come with a little rechargeable remote than can change modes or adjust volume for each hearing aid individually. The remote also has a “find” mode; one button push which will flash a small LED on each hearing aid to help locate them in dim lighting or the dark (not so sure how helpful that would be, but it’s there to try). You can answer or end phone calls with the hearing aid button or with your phone as usual. Hearing aid battery life is good, lasting me through a full day before needing to recharge.

Title: Excellent quality and ease of setup
Review: FLYSOUND OTC Rechargeable Hearing AidsThese hearing devices help to fill the gap between full audiology tests, with very expensive devices, and simple sound amplifiers. The FLYSOUND OTC aids app allows the user to adjust the sound quality to fit personal needs.I have had mild/moderate hearing loss for 20 years, and have been the unhappy recipient of large bills from audiologists for correcting hearing problems that were not severe. In order to watch TV without bothering others with the volume, and to have conversations in a normal tone, I have spent a lot of money. It is fortunate that this type of device is now available to the public without need of an audiologist. The device itself is well equipped. The package includes three types of ear cones; open dome, closed dome, and a double layered power dome; each in three sizes. This helps individuals such as myself who need two sizes of dome. Bone growth in the ear canal from many years of daily swimming in cold water have resulted in one very tight, and one “normal” ear canal. A small open dome in one ear, and a medium dome in the other worked well. There are two different lanyards that can be used to help prevent loss or damage during physical activity, such as bicycling or running. I did not test these cords, at 80 years old my activities while wearing hearing aids are less vigorous.A small container of wax guards is supplied. Replacement wax guards, and ear cones are available at minimal cost on Amazon. The small, rechargeable, remote control is very handy when going from a quiet environment to a noisy environment, such as a restaurant. This is new to me on a hearing aid, and I did find a use for the lanyard with this remote. The charging/drying storage box is a great help in maintaining the health of the hearing aids. Corrosion from moisture has been a problem for my hearing aids in the past, and I still do swim daily. The cost of these hearing aids is a fraction of what has been paid for “brand name” devices in years past, and no more trips to the audiologist are necessary for cleaning and maintenance. The app made setup simple and intuitive, even for an elderly person. After a couple weeks of use, I would have no reservations in recommending the FLYSOUND OTC rechargeable hearing aids to a good friend with non-severe hearing loss. They are superior to the hearing aids I paid a lot of money for 10 or 20 years ago. There are no complaints. This one is an easy 5 rating.
