Title: This is perfect!
Review: I was looking for an inexpensive, extremely easy to use phone for my 93 year old Mother who has very limited sight, short term memory issues, is electronically challenged and barely hears, even though she wears hearing aids. I read all the reviews for this phone and others that were similar and decided this looked like the best choice for us. We (my Mother and myself) couldn’t be happier. She can hear both the ringer and conversations, both are turned up to the loud settings. She can make calls with the extremely big and easy to see buttons and I programmed the top three buttons for her frequently called numbers (since she lives in an assisted living apartment she does not need the 911 button so I reprogrammed that one for a regular number). She isn’t quite so quick with the other programmed large buttons since she keeps forgetting to push the button on the bottom left before the large number button (2 steps instead of just one) but I think she will eventually. I was very concerned that she would push the stupidly placed mute button (why would they put it on the receiver?) and wouldn’t even realize it so after reading the other reviews I took someone else’s tip to use crazy glue around the button and now it cannot be pushed-problem solved! This has helped so much with making my Mom not feel isolated now that she can communicate with family and friends. A good purchase and I highly recommend, especially for the price!

Title: Not bad.
Review: I went through many of the reviews before getting this phone. First off, the one delivered to me does not have the dreaded “mute” button built into the receiver, so they must have acknowledged all the bad reviews on that feature (rightfully so). There is no mute button at all. Second, the 911 button, you can program that to be ANY number, so accidentally calling 911 is not a worry. I had seen that another buyer noted it was programmable before I purchased mine. I just painted over the 911 button with a Sharpie, and programmed it for a family member. Programming the numbers is pretty easy, but note that when you actually push the buttons to enter the number, there is no button key tone sound. I thought that was a bit weird but not a problem. When using the phone like normal there IS key tone sounds each time you hit a button. The ringer is pretty loud on high, I personally didn’t think the receiver was that loud on high, but my half deaf 93 year old grandmother seemed to have no issue with it on her first call. Also as noted by other buyers, the phone base is SUPER light weight, making it easy to be pulled off the table by the receiver. I paired my purchase with a longer receiver cord and a longer cord for the base so she wouldn’t feel like she was on a short leash. Today is day one with the phone, so I’m hopeful it holds up well. My grandmother is partially blind with macular degeneration, she is having an easier time with seeing the numbers. I put a raised adhesive bump dot on the mem button to help her with the programmed numbers. So she just presses mem (which is a smaller button) and a corresponding (big) number she can see to speed dial someone. Paper instructions did come with the phone. Phone numbers are retained if the phone is unplugged, which is a great feature.https://www.amazon.com/Bump-Dots-Mixed-Sm-Med-Lg-Round-Orange-Red-80-pk/dp/B00G96AA5Y/ref=sr_1_2?crid=72QXN2LGL01I&keywords=dots+for+the+blind&qid=1574216810&sprefix=dots+for+%2Caps%2C207&sr=8-2

Title: Helpful for disabled and older or nursing home patients!
Review: pros- supersized buttons for blind and visually impaired, simple design and instruction manual, a regular old handset setup, which is what many ppl need, (parent is in nursing home and CANNOT use a cell phone no matter what we tried), the loudness can be raised, although only 2 settings are allowed. I was able to utilize a wireless serivce from cell phone company that allows hookup to a regular old phone, no wiring, just a little receiver/sender box with a phone cord input.Cons- the phone base is not heavy enuf to stay still. it will be pulled off with old, frail hands (had to put in a heavier holder), the mute button can easily be pressed by old hands(its on the handset, right where you put your hands easily) this should have been on phone base on button pad instead, and had to buy a longer cord, which happens a lot. And i wish the button base was larger…make it like a rectangle with all basic functions on it…the stability is important for older and disabled ppl. Believe me it was tough to find a simple phone like this and i am glad we did locate one..FINALLY!!

Title: Great phone for low-tech parent
Review: We bought this phone for my mother in law who has trouble with a typical phone that has small buttons and text and requires pressing a specific button to answer or make a call, like a cell phone. This is pretty much an old fashion phone – she just picks it up to answer a call or to immedaiately get a dial tone when she wants to call. We have the programmed buttons set up for her most frequent calls. She’s really happy and feels much more independent and ‘not such a tech idiot’ (her words). I only wish that the 911 button was not placed between the programmed buttons as she has accidentally hit it. All in all, a great phone.

Review: This phone is excellent in meeting the requirements for my MIL. The buttons are big, the black/white contrast is good, the handset is what she’s used to holding to her ear and mouth, it’s comfortable to hold for lengthy conversations, the 10 memory two-button dialing works really well, and the single-button dialing is excellent for urgent calls. She probably would not be able to program numbers herself, but it’s very easy for me to do for her.
