Title: Compact Sound Amplifier
Review: This is a review of 4 Pack Personal Hearing Amplifiers Sound Amplifier Pocket Voice Hearing Enhancement Device with 8 Volume Levels.As advertised, the amplifiers are lightweight, compact in size, and very portable.The silicone ear plug is comfortable to wear. They are economical to purchase.However, when you are using the device, and are wearing the headphone, it is obvious and cannot really be hidden as an actual hearing aid might be.When they arrived, the batteries were already inserted, and I assumed they were placed in the right direction.They were not. If there is a + or – indicator on the battery lid, I could not find it. After almost giving up, I tried turning the battery around and Voila! They worked!These are not hearing aids. Do not expect them to perform as well as one. They do amplify sounds, but please be careful to start at the lowest volume to avoid extremely loud noise in your ear which is painful. There are buttons to adjust the volume, frequency, and pitch.My experience with the amplifier is this -Yes, they do amplify sounds. You will need to learn how to adjust the volume, frequency, and pitch so that they are at acceptable levels for YOUR personal use.Myself, I have a hard time controlling the background noise, and getting the pitch right. I’m going to need much more practice to get it right. I have never used a hearing aid, so it’s probably more of a challenge for me than for someone who has used one.It is an inexpensive alternative to a hearing aid, and if that is what you are interested in, it might work for you.
