Review: One major abberration/distortion right in the middle of this cheap plastic lens.They are sending random lenses. This one was 1.5 inch double convex, plastic, with flash from the molding process still on the edge.At 25 cents, this would be disappointing.

Title: Guessed on the magnification, fingers crossed
Review: It could be a five, not sure, I bought it as a replacement lens because somewhere in one of my moves, I lost the original lens…so mad because it functioned perfectly for my needs. Strong metal arms and springs, stays put when I move it. It was the perfect magnification, unfortunately I don’t know what that was so guessed on the magnification. The original was glass but due to costs I opted for the plastic lens because I could replace the whole light and fixture twice instead of buying the glass lens.. I believe it will fit but also lost the thingy that holds the lens in place…so mad. Now I have to rig something up to hold the lens in place, not sure what to use that’s lightweight yet sturdy enough to keep the lens in place. At this point I should have just bought a new lamp but I love this one and trying to keep things from ending up in landfill. Onward!

Review: Great for reading, because it will allow you to set it on the page. However, I ordered a double-convex lens for other purposes; and was not what I wanted. Would have gave it one star – but many are looking for a reading lens. Everything else about it is fine.

Review: This lens is NOT a double convex lens. It is a single convex lens. This lens is flat on one side, and it will not work for my application. Amazon’s product description is inaccurate. Glass quality is very good but just flat on one side, I had to return it.

Review: Lens received is not double convex and the magnification is maximum 3x and not 30x as advertised. The lens can be described as having one convex side and one concave, so not even a “simple-convex” lens.However the quality of the glass is good, very good lens for a 3x magnification.
