Title: Hearing aid amplifiers
Review: An audiologist told me it would be a good idea to get hearing aids. My ENT looked at my tests and said my hearing was not very bad and that I could hold off for a a couple of years unless I felt I wanted/needed them. The only times I do is if someone speaks quite softly or to keep the tv low so it doesn’t disturb others. My compromise is OTC, something that’s easy to pull from my purse if needed, so I ordered these.First, they’re in a nice case that has a charging indicator on the outside with a digital progress percentage charge bar. It’s small enough to fit easily in my purse.Read the instructions and put the right aid in. Had to take off my glasses but after I seated the aid, it didn’t cause an issue when I put my glasses back on. Well okay, a smidge, but not too bad! Turned on the aid and even without increasing the volume much I had a lot of static. Changed to a smaller ear piece and that was better, as was switching the mode from normal to noise-canceling. But still, could not get the sound quality to be comfortable. The instructions say if it’s noisy to check if it is in a ‘strong magnetic field environment. Well, I neither know what that is, nor how to test for it. Next stop: outside! I had no better luck, and I did the other suggestion of making sure the ear piece was snugly in my ear.I got no whistling or feedback, just the sound was unpleasant: tinny, hollow. Noise-canceling mode is definitely preferred as ‘normal’ picked up everything seemingly equally.I’ll take them when I go out but likely won’t use them unless desperate.

Title: Great for those hard of hearing
Review: My mother-in-law has always had hearing issues, which have gotten worse as she’s gotten older. She’s also been resistant to going to a hearing specialist to get her issues evaluated and to get hearing aids. So I decided to take matters into my own hands and get these, which have been a huge help to her. She was able to put them on fairly easily, and since then has been much more engaged with others — because she can actually hear what we’re saying! This is a good option for anyone hard of hearing who needs a little help.
