Title: Budget friendly and a great way to see if hearing aids are right for you
Review: My husband wears non prescription hearing aids daily and has done so for the last couple of years. What he wears are more of an amplifier, which is what this product is too. The ones he’s been using daily were about 15 times more expensive than these, but with more features. Because of the very low price, I picked these up to have on hand for an emergency, like if he lost one or broke them.From the pictures in the listing, I knew this would be a different style than he’s used to. His current hearing aids go behind his ear and this kind goes in the ear directly. It took him a day or so to get used to having them sit inside his ear.The hearing aids come nicely packaged in the manufacturer’s box which is lined with foam and will be a good place to keep them secured when not in use. It comes with a short USB-C style charging cord and I was happy to see it wasn’t some weird proprietary cord that is nearly impossible to replace if you lose it. It also comes with several sets of silicone ear plugs in different sizes to adapt them to any sized ear. There is a detailed instruction manual that is pretty straightforward and easy to understand.I charged the hearing amplifiers right away and it took about an hour to get them to 100%. There is a digital display on the case to show you the battery level and the numbers displayed are crisp and easy to read. Note that there are little stickers on the earbuds protecting the contact points that need to be peeled off prior to charging.Operating the device is easy. There is one button on each earbud that cycles you through the 4 different levels of amplification. The earbuds respond well to touch and it’s simple enough to change the level for different situations. At home, my husband preferred the first level, but at the grocery store he had to adjust it to a different level to filter out the background noise. It only takes a moment to cycle through the levels and find the best fit for any given situation.They fit comfortably inside the ear, but are more visible than a behind-the-ear style. My husband is not particularly vain so it was not an issue for him. He was happy that the hearing aids did what they were meant to do, which is amplify sound and filter out background noise. They do the job pretty well and his hearing was improved while he was wearing them. We didn’t have to crank up the tv to an uncomfortable level in order for him to hear it, and I was very pleased with that.He won’t be giving up his more expensive hearing aids, but he is happy to have these as a backup. The price is amazing and would fit into almost any budget so I’d say it’s a good value. If you have a very small budget or you just want to see if hearing aids would be of any benefit to you, this is a great way to do that.
