Title: Low price, high volume boost. I shouldn’t have played Led Zeppelin so loud.
Review: With years of intermittent experimentation, I was just getting comfortable with a pair of rechargeable “Onebridge” hearing aids that cost about $125 a few years ago. They included a two-position tone control (regular and extra-treble-boost), and of course variable volume. After a few years, one aid suddenly lost about 10 or 20 dB of gain, and the other keeps beeping every few minutes stabbingly loudly, that it’s out of batteries, beeping all day like the Chinese Water Torture, before its battery finally actually dies. So, two different failure modes from two different aids.Onebridge went out of business, so I can’t get a new pair of the aids I’m already familiar with.So I got these LapEasy hearing aids. They don’t have an extra-treble-boost option, which one of my ears is so bad it couldn’t hear the difference from the non-boost position anyway, so the opinion of one of my ears is “Who needs it.” These aids are rechargeable, each aid has its own USB-C jack. The Onebridge aids had a rechargeable base that its aids could get a charge from more than a few times before the base needed its own recharge, a convenience that was only rarely useful; but the special, mechanical, spring-loaded pins between the Onebridge aids and their charging base were also seriously failing. The standard USB-C jacks on these LapEasy aids are likely to survive much longer than funky spring-loaded pins.USB-C jacks are rated for 10,000 insertion cycles, but I can’t figure out how that converts to years of life for the LapEasy hearing aids. Maybe a really long time. And lastly, the Onebridges were rated for moderate — but not severe hearing loss. These LapEasy aids get a lot louder, and one of my ears really needs that.I think these LapEasy aids should have come with a Y-adapter splitter, a female USB-C jack to two male USB-C plugs, to plug into the end of your own USB-C cable, so that one charger could charge both ears at the same time. However, these LapEasys charge fast enough, so it’s not awful charging the two ears one at a time. Or, of course if you’re outfitted with two chargers and two USB-C cables, then you can charge both ears at the same time. But even charging one at a time hasn’t been so critical a problem, since the LapEasys charge so fast.Hearing aids, I’ve learned, can break out into an assortment of failure modes. Loss of amplification stages, mechanical failures, digital programming problems. At least the LapEasys are so simple, they won’t have the charging problems or digital programming failures such as the warning-beep problems that the Onebridge aids succumbed to. The LapEasys have a mechanical On/Off switch which might be delicate — who knows, so be gentle with it. The rest of the internals will hopefully last a long time. In the meantime, the plain-jane volume boost for a low price is helpful for my two ears, even though they have completely different severities of hearing problems.Update: After a couple of weeks, I’ve gotten more used to these hearing aids.

Title: If you have owned regular hearing aids, you know these are just as good
Review: I see a lot of people saying they don’t compare to regular hearing aids but that is not true. I have a 2000.00 hearing aid and it is no different than this. I can operate it through my phone but the sound quality is no better. As a matter of fact, I hear better with these which is why I ordered them. It’s a great price for 2 of them. If you don’t like the larger over the ear ones, these won’t be for you but I personally don’t care as long as I can hear. They charge fast and actually last all day, sometimes more. Yes there is background noise but my expensive heading aid has it as well. The main difference is having to adjust this but you can actually get used to adjusting it while wearing it instead of having to take them out. They fit well and are actually comfortable and I personally think the sound quality is great.

Title: Satisfactory audio quality, but somewhat uncomfortable
Review: I recently bought this product for my mother, who has hearing problems. According to her, the sound quality is excellent, but it falls out of her ear very frequently. And even though we’ve tried all the different sizes and attachments it came with, the problem persists.

Title: Will not stay in ear
Review: I wish I could say I like them, but I am returning them. Not good for elderly. My mom who needs them tried them and the plug keeps comming out of ears. I tried both size tips no help. I ordered a set with a thiner wire that I hope will bend to help keep plug in ear. Sound is good.
