Title: Pretty much perfect out of the box.
Review: These have supplanted the Sennheiser HD6xx as my favorite open back and the one I use daily. The best way I can describe it, these sound meaty and impactful while still being detailed and spacious. While the 6xx sounds kind of thin and boxed in by comparisonNot to say the 6xx is bad, they are great. These edition XV are just better. These I feel need no EQ at all for my tastes, and have probably my favorite stock tuning of any headphone I’ve owned.I love that there is no sub bass roll off. That combined with the relaxed treble make these sound fantastic. I listen to mostly Metal and they carry such a thick, powerful energy through the songs.I was listening to pull me under by Dream Theater last night and it was just…chefs kiss.I play a lot of games and watch a lot of videos/shows/movies with these and I would say they are damn near perfect for that as well in terms of tonality and comfort.One thing I always hated about the sub $700 Hifimans was how they felt to hold and to wear. They felt cheap with the exception of maybe sundara. But these improve build and comfort in just about every way. They don’t feel cheap or poorly built. Quite the opposite. The pads are surprisingly plush, the comfort strap is great, the clamp is perfect for my head, the mostly metal build feels high quality and sturdy.I don’t even have any real complaints about the cable. It’s fine.Very happy with them so far. I find it hard to want to use anything else. I would be perfectly happy with these as my open back and Aeon Closed RT as my closed back for the forseeable future.The only thing I noticed is running a frequency sweep at higher volumes, I would get a tone within the tone in either left or right channel depending on the frequency. For example, at ~400hz in the left channel it almost sounded like two different tones playing at once. Not sure what would cause this but I don’t hear anything off while listening to music

Title: Mechanical noise from headphone construction is not acceptable.
Review: Great full range planar magnetic headphone sound that Hifiman is known for. BUT metal protective mesh screens inside earcups rattles against the magnets making extraneous noises on occasion. Not acceptable for this price.

Title: Solid choice for those who dont like the XS.
Review: Solid sound. Tuning is much better for those who do not like the Hifiman house sound. A little EQ monster. Aesthetically it has a very industrial look. Good hardware with the full metal / aluminum build.

Title: Slightly More Bass Than Ananda Unveiled
Review: The size and build make for a solid and comfortable wear. This would get a 5/5 if the ear pads were thicker.Clamp force is noticeable and causes fatigue after long use. Sound is treble forward with some supporting bass elements. Very responsive to equalization in case you decide to do that. Bass response increases if your seal is weak.This is an open back headphone, intended to be used at home or in a closed office. This will not isolate sound from the surroundings.

Title: 10/10 planar magic for those who can’t take it too spicy.
Review: Thanks so much to Hifiman for taking a chance on this tuning for the people that need it a level less energy in the high areas. Now my #1! 🙂 Nice level of craft on it as well. The grill has a cool looking and functional design to keep it rigid and have as the maximum open space in the behind the planar drivers. I listen to it in a Fiio K13 with the over sampling off. It does sound great in my Onix alpha dongle as well. Reminds me of my Sigmot et142 or Hidz 145 with dark nozzles.

Title: Excellent headphones and a great value
Review: I really love these headphones. They sound fantastic and are very comfortable. They don’t sit on the ears like some headphones. They cover your ears. The do allow some louder external noise to come through; like a phone or doorbell.

I own all types of headphones closed/open back k this is my first pair of planar and the sound is new to ears, and as far as gaming OMG!! dammmmmmmmmmmm I heard sounds I didn’t hear with my other headphones im the foot steps master now! Battlefield 6 is so much better the buildings coming down the sound is insanity im in love ❤️ again with gaming multiplayer/ single player immersed in my hifiman edition xv planar PS. I have not tried them with music (yet) but I will and do another review but for now Gamers Rejoice!!! Hifiman edition xv as your back

Review: Sound ist super.Es handelt sich hierbei um ein Audiophile Headset. Heißt wer auf kräftig wummernde Bässe oder elektronische Musik steht, hat hier vom Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis kein gutes Produkt. Ansonstensind die Headphones bestens geeignet für jede Art von Musik. Ich persönlich finde, je mehr Instrumente spielen, desto besser ist die Performance. (Logarithmisch versteht sich.)

Review: Sound great. Nice build quality too and fantastic packaging! Would recommend. Sound like a warm sound but without heaps of bass, but the bass is prominent + fairly reference to the original recording, so is very satisfying when the song utilises the lower frequencies. Comfort is fantastic with the head strap and clarity is crystal clear, handling higher volumes like a champ.

Review: I’m not a HeadFi expert. However I’m coming from HiFi, where I have a fairly expensive setup in a treated room. These headphones are meant for me to enjoy good sound at night without disturbing my neighbours.My prior headphones are Sony XM-5. They can sound pretty good if you know your way around EQ, but out of the box they sound horrendous.My listening impressions of the Edition XV out of the box:- Sound is balanced, nice detail without being bright at all- The soundstage is a bit spacious and a little airy, but doesn’t make you go WOW- Bass is good: deep and articulate. A neutral presentation, which is my preference. Games on my PS5 sounded great.- I usually use these in a 6 hour block and don’t experience fatigue.- I don’t alter the treble/bass on my amp, as I like the sound of these out of the box.Regarding comfort, I consider them to be decent. I see a lot of reviews saying these are one of the most comfortable Hifiman headphones, but as a novice, they didn’t impress but they weren’t uncomfortable either.Compared to my HiFi setup (KEF R3 Meta/ARC/Classe), these headphones don’t hold a candle to them. However they are a significantly better than my XM-5s, if you’re not a glutton for muddy bass bloat.I guess for these headphones to have impressed me, the soundstage would have to be far more spacious. But every other aspect of its sound I really like.I used the Fosi ZH3 to drive these headphones.
