Review: My vision isn’t what it used to be. There have been times when a magnifying glass would be handy. Especially when reading the tiny manuals that I’ve been getting lately with electronic products. This magnifying glass did the trick when I needed to read some tiny print. The lighting is a nice feature. The fact that the lights are powered by a rechargeable battery makes it economical as well. I especially like the middle warm light setting. I did find the Tact switch a bit counterintuitive. With most multi-functions switch a long press either turns the light on or off, here a long press increases of decreases the light intensity. To turn the light off after turning it on, you have to cycle through all the light settings on press at a time. Not a huge chore, but I found it a bit irritating. The other thing I found I kept doing is that because the last light is in the handle, hidden by my palm, I ended up setting down the magnifying glass with this light still on. This, of course, caused the battery to run down. Not a major problem, and perhaps with time I’ll quit doing that. Still, it’s a bit of a worry. On the whole, I’m glad I have this wonderful magnifying glass.

Review: I ordered this handheld magnifier when it became clear to me that the FONT SIZE on instruction manuals and information datasheets arriving with products I ordered for testing and review had dropped BELOW my visual acuity threshold. In other words, I could not read them, AT ALL. In fairness to OTHER older folks like ME, how many 20 somethings can read TWO POINT TYPE? Because two-point type is now the de facto standard for all the “single page” instruction sheets coming with manufacturer’s products.I select, order, test, and then write reviews about computers and computer components, photography, drones, optics, scuba diving, and hand tools products and the trend toward “too small” font sizes exceeded my abilities at two- point type. It was clear to me I needed something more than stronger “Reader’s Glasses” and, as usual, AMAZON and Uncle Prime delivered in the form of this LIGHTED and RECHARGEABLE TEN or TWENTY POWER MAGNIFIER.I appreciate how the text I see through the lens is larger and blacker, with clearly defined straight lines and sharp edges. The 10X or 20X magnification option gives me flexibility to “go bigger” depending on what I need to read or understand on the sample form for a USB-C computer hub with NINETEEN PORTS including HDMI, VGA, Thunderbolt, and the image stays sharp without distortion. The built-in lighting makes a big difference when I work in low light, and I like being able to switch between warm and cool tones depending on the task.The grip feels comfortable, even when I use it for longer periods, and the lightweight design makes it easy to transport with the rest of my test and evaluation equipment. I use it for everything from checking fine print on labels to inspecting small parts in electronics, and it has held up really well. The battery lasts long enough for several sessions, and the USB-C charging system keeps things simple.
