Title: Very useful aac on a budget
Review: It’s very similar quality to those books that have buttons you push to read lines or make sound effects. So it’s not super high quality but it’s also very reasonable priced imo. You’re not going to get the functionality of a high cost aac device or software but if you can’t afford those/get them funded, or maybe you just want to try one out to see if it helps your kid communicate, I think this is a good choice. We are using this as a lighter weighted option for when my kid isn’t interested in using her full aac device. I think having limited options has been useful in not getting overwhelmed. It doesn’t weight much and it’s a good size for carrying around. My kid likes to just play with it sometimes but she also took to it well for some minor communication. I’m thrilled with it honestly. Any communication is progress. I showed her a few buttons and she took to it immediately and started using it so it’s very easy to use. The preprogrammed options cover a wide range of needs. It works well for what it is. The voice is cute, I think my daughter likes it better than the voice on her aac.

Review: Pros:• Very Clear Buttons & Phrases• Color Coordinated for specific phrases• You have 6 additional buttons to record additional phrases that you commonly (ex, “More,” “Please,” etc)Cons:• Buttons need to be pushed pretty hard• Recorded messages have a static background, even if in a quiet room.Overall, I love this product! It was well worth the $20.My son is 4, nonverbal and autistic, and I’m hoping with adding this to our routine, we can communicate better ♡

Title: Helpful and easy to use
Review: This sensory communication device is really neat. The device comes in a box that includes a very soft carrying pouch. The device is plastic and lightweight without any rough edges. The batteries insert on the back and there’s also a physical power switch on the back. The buttons are easy to press with a little pressure that is easy for kids. There are 20 predefined communication buttons, a volume button that has 2 levels, and 6 buttons for recording specific audio clips up to 10 seconds. Each of the prerecorded messages are clear and easy to understand. The recording is also easy to create with just a 3 second long press which triggers the recording, and then release the button when the desired recording is complete to save. This is pretty clear when played back as well just as long as the device is held close during the recording.Nitpicking for complaints, I’d say I only wish it wasn’t using 3x lr44 button batteries. Being rechargeable would be more ideal and convenient.Overall this is a very useful device especially for those in need. It’s well thought out with large easy to press buttons and the main communication phrases for daily use.

Title: Versatile and User-Friendly
Review: I really like the variety of pre-recorded buttons. They cover most daily needs. The 6 programmable buttons are super helpful for adding any personalized phrases or words your family uses often. I also appreciate the adjustable volume controls, which is great for out in public. It’s also lightweight so it won’t weigh down your bag.

Title: Useful and effective AAC device for nonverbal communication
Review: I ordered KidBloom’s Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) Device for nonverbal children, and it’s been a great, low-key tool allowing me to learn about this concern and these necessary communication methods, as I deal with an autistic relative. The device has 20 color-coded buttons and 6 recordable buttons for significant and reinforcement messaging from known people like “mommy loves you” as an example. The quality of the recording not great though. The adjustable volume is a nice touch, too. It’s a great product that seems to work well for special young children. It also comes with a pouch to house when not in use and has a reasonable price point.

Review: My grandson, who is non-verbal and has autism, often struggles with feeling misunderstood. Since receiving this device, he’s used it constantly and even brings it with him to nursery. It’s made a noticeable difference in helping him express himself. The only challenge is that he doesn’t like to press the buttons himself—he prefers guiding someone else’s hand to do it for him, which might be due to a sensory preference. Overall, this tool has been a breakthrough for him, and we’re incredibly happy with the purchase.

Review: It works as well as you’d expect. The button-presses and audio output are identical to any typical Play-A-Sound book. The audio output is good enough, and clear enough for the pre-recorded phrases; but nothing amazing. The manufacturing feels very cheap-plastic-y and lightweight. It strikes me as very the sort of thing that would be very easy to break with even a minor accident. The ability to record phrases and replay them is nice, and useful given the product’s intended usage: But the microphone quality is poor, so the playback fidelity is significantly worse than the pre-programmed phrases. It’s hard to know how well any individual non-verbal child will be able to make use of it, given the wide variability in how autism can present.I can imagine it being invaluable for an autistic child with the precise combination of linguistic aptitude and non-verbal traits that it is intended to help with; and momentarily useful for a load more who are working through a period where they’re struggling with the beginnings of speech. But I can also see it being redundant for a whole load more whose issues stem from problems with language in a more general sense rather than speech specifically.

Review: I saw this KidBloom AAC device and I knew it would be just right for my niece. She’s non-verbal, and sometimes communication can be so frustrating for her and for everyone watching, because we don’t always know exactly what she wants or needs right away. This device has helped ease that so much and so quickly! It has six programmable buttons you can record phrases on, which means she can press something that sounds like her voice (or ours), to say what she wants. It gives her encouragement and reassurance when she hears us, even when we are not there. The volume has two settings so it works in quieter spaces like home or during nursery and louder ones like playgrounds or parks. It’s lightweight (about 140g), and it comes with a soft pouch, so she can carry it in her backpack without it banging around too much or being too heavy. She gets to take control of it herself and have the security of knowing it’s there when she needs it.From the moment she tried it, there was a noticeable change, shes inquisitive and was immediately intrigued. Now we have noticed more and more that instead of reaching for someone or getting upset, she’ll press a button. It’s given her a way to express herself more clearly, and honestly seeing her use it brings real relief and so much happiness, not just for her, but for everyone around her. It reduces those moments of guessing “What does she need?” or “Is she okay?” It’s become absolutely priceless. We have noticed that she is using her hands to express herself more, mirroring us when she asks for something, like if she wants a snack and she lets us know, we gesture towards the kitchen as in a “let’s go” move, unconsciously. She’s started using her hands to guide us and managed to interact well without it! So it’s not just giving her a voice, it’s teaching her how to use her own without sound.I was worried about durability and tech-glitches, giving her something that may be abruptly ‘taken away’ but it’s been solid so far. The buttons respond well, recording is straightforward, and we haven’t had any issues with volume or weird sounds. If anything, it takes a little practice remembering which phrase is on which button, but that’s a small trade-off…and the only person it doesn’t seem to affect is her! She’s a whizz at it.If you’re looking for something that feels meaningful rather than just “something that might help”, this feels like one of the #good decisions. It gives a voice where there isn’t one verbally, and that makes a huge difference in even the smallest day to day things that we all take for granted. This is not just a toy, it’s a tool!
