Title: Easiest Smoke/CO Detector Install Ever
Review: This Kidde smoke/CO detector is the Cadillac of detectors.I love that the installation instructions were simple and straightforward; the unit was a piece-of-cake to install; and the app is simple to use and so useful.Here’s the trick I learned for DIY installers: buy the adapter from Home Depot for $6. I couldn’t find an adapter source on Amazon. The adapter eliminates the need to re-hardwire the unit, because it allows you to use the original hardwiring.For point of reference, it took me about 15-20 minutes to install the first unit. But for the second one and the remaining five units, I spent about 10 minutes apiece.I also love the testing features for the detectors—actuated by the app and so easy. I would buy and install these again in a heartbeat.

Title: Nice features, simple to set up
Review: I had originally given this Kidde smoke/co2 detector (see prior review below) five stars. While everything that I said is true, it is also true — as noted by other reviewers — these detectors randomly make a single-chirp. I can go for weeks with no chirping and then, seemingly for no reason, a random detector will sound a one time chirp. I never had this problem with of my prior Kidde smoke detectors. It’s quite annoying, particularly when one of them wakes me up.I have no idea what to do with these things. One day the detector downstairs chirps, another day the one in my bedroom chirps. There is no consistency. Tonight, three of them chirped at the same time (I have ten). That’s a first.When one of these units is not waking me up with a unwarranted single chirp, they often take the opportunity to let me know, in a very loud voice, whenever a Wi-Fi connection is lost or whenever one is regained. This is a design flaw. The alert should merely appear in the app and solely in the app. Unless your WiFi has perfect connectivity, you will likely find this feature quite annoying.As much as I like the functionality noted below, I wish I never purchased these Kidde detectors.Prior Review:Has some neat features. Like 1) Kidde app will tell you which room is the source of an alarm 2) You can test alarms from the Kidde app without pressing the test button on each unit 3) You can tell it to never sound a battery low chirp during sleep hours (10pm to 6am), and 4) The voice alarm is a very cool feature.It’s a new model so I forgive that one in ten units was unable to connect to WiFi. Amazon replaced the unit without any hassle. It’s very easy to install, if you are replacing another hardwired unit, and setting up the WiFi connection is simple.

Review: easy set up and installation. so far it is working as designed. the app shows status information. i removed my old ones due to false alarms even though they were only a couple years old. have had no issues with these.

Title: Quality product, reasonable price for the feature set
Review: I’m satisfied with this product. It’s the only smart detector I have installed in my house so far so this is the only Kidde smoke detector I have that communicates with the Kidde app on my smartphone. Other smoke detectors in my house are going to be due for replacement in the coming months, I will replace those with this model as well. When I do, I will have a “network” of these detectors that I can test and ping from within the app. I liked that this Kidde detector installed basically the same way as my existing hardwired smoke detectors. I thought the price for this combo detector was reasonable compared to other detectors in the market with these same features. Google Nest detectors have been discontinued and I never previously owned any Nest detectors so I did not go with the First Alert detector that’s compatible with Nest Protect.

Title: Good app, no false alarms, Kidde quality
Review: I bought the Kidde Hardwired Kidde App Enabled Smart Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detector as a replacement for the expiring hardwired Nest Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detector we had in the upstairs hallway, because of its good reviews (especially compared to the alleged replacement for the Nest line).I also thought that it would be the first of a series of Kidde smoke/CO detectors for our home, replacing all of the Nest devices. Unfortunately, it won’t connect to other Kidde detectors without wiring, unlike the Nest products which used wireless connectivity. This oversight was obviously my fault, not reading enough and trusting the wrong sources. It’s not right, but I’m taking a star off because of my disappointment.On the other hand, in the month and a half that it’s been installed, it hasn’t had any false alarms in the middle of the night like the users of the aforementioned Nest ‘replacement’ have complained. Kidde has a great reputation, it’s app is easy to use, and allows a convenient test and pinging of the alarm. I only wish it would wirelessly nw with a series of other Kidde detectors.Highly recommend the Kidde Hardwired Kidde App Enabled Smart Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detector, as a standalone detector, or with other wired Kidde detectors.

Title: Easy install and quick connect through Kidde app.
Review: Unlike the Kidde Ring enabled version, these units were easy to install and mount. Through the Kidde app, easy to follow setup with quick WiFi connection (Remember, if you have a WiFi system that automatically connects to either 5 or 2.4 ghz, be sure to set system temporarily to the 2.4 ghz only. I have Eero routers that easily allow that flexibility or contact the Eero product support who has always been fanstastic).
