Title: Good all arounder
Review: I have been wanting to upgrade my multimeter and found this Klein to be a great bargain. I often work around the house on electrical and AC projects. I also fiddle with small electronics and ham radios as well as vehicle maintenance. This meter allows micro-amps/volts and has an amp clamp built in.

Title: Very happy with this meter!!
Review: I wasn’t expecting a lot out of a $120 meter when I purchased this Klein CL800 but I am writing this review to tell anyone considering it that it is in my opinion the best value for your $$. I’m a Journeyman Wireman of 10 years and have used this meter off and on for the past 2 years in industrial, commercial and at home automotive work. This is a tough well built meter that provides accurate measurements even when compared to my Flukes. Also it has the most amount of different testing capabilities you can find in a clamp meter from testing capacitors and diodes all the way temperature as well as your standard Volts (A/C and DC) Amps and continuity. I have been very impressed with the quality, accuracy, and dependability of this meter. I don’t think you will be disappointed as a homeowner or commercial/industrial electrician.

Title: Simple to Use, Many functions, Excellent value
Review: This meter combines almost all of the functions of a good good conventional digital multimeter (DMM) with the convenience and simplicity of an AC / DC clamp current meter, giving the best of both worlds in one compact unit.The display is large and easy to read, though it is white numbers on black background instead of the usual black on white; it’s back illuminated. Some reviewers stated that the display shuts off too rapidly (power saving feature); it does have a 5-minute time out function, however, this can be easily overridden and turned off so that the meter stays on continuously (this is explained in the instruction manual, as are many other excellent features that are not immediately apparent).All features are easy to access, and the buttons and switches on this meter, including the thumb operated rotary range dial, work smoothly and reliably.It comes with a thermocouple temperature probe, test leads, batteries, a case, and an instruction manual; In other words, it is a complete kit ready to go right out of the package.I checked the meter on a voltage reference and the calibration was very good.The only additional feature that I wish this meter had was an in-circuit 10 amp current measuring range. That said, the clamp sensing current measurement is more accurate at low current than I thought it would be.

Title: Almost Perfect
Review: I like the CL800. It has all the features I ever longed for in multimeter, and I would easily give it a 5-star rating if not for one small issue. Before testing amps in AC mode, the reading is expectedly zero. Not so in DC mode. First you need to press and hold the SEL button to null out the random value displayed (WTF?). Only then can you gauge your DC amps with reasonable accuracy.The meter did report, for example, that the normal parasitic drain on my car battery with the ignition off is about 40 milliamps (0.04 A), which is more or less what I anticipated. I also tested the meter with a portable DC power supply in Constant Volt mode (under load) and in Constant Current mode (shorted, with no load), and in both cases the amps I registered were in tight agreement with my power settings. So yeah, the meter does work. But still…….Anyhow, the CL800 is a good, solid device, and I highly recommend it. Put another way, if you had to choose only one multimeter in this category and price range, you’re looking at it. Nevermind the little quirk.

Title: Saved me money
Review: My air condition was on the fritz so I ordered this meter to do some basic checks. Was able to check capacitor and determined it was bad. The part was 10$ and the cost of the meter saved me over 100$. Easy to use great directions the screen is easy to read. The clamp came in handy working on hot tub motor and checking amps on welder. Very accurate

Review: I bought this specific product so I could test for some current draw in a DC environment. Most others didn’t seem to have that capability.It did the job as required. The clamp also can serve to hang it while in use too.

Review: I’ve purchased two of these. The second one due to my GSD x Malinois using it for a chew toy. The DC current clamp-on feature has been very helpful when troubleshooting automotive and machine tool power problems.I’ve compared the accuracy to a 6-1/2 digit Fluke bench DMM and found it surprisingly accurate compared to other low cost hand-held DMMs. I’ll probably never use most of the features packed into this DMM, so many features. For electricians the low impedance voltage measurement mode is a god send by eliminating ghost voltage readings.Yes, a higher contrast display would be nice. The thermocouple measurements are a few degrees off but not terrible. In an environment with very high electrical noise it may present nonsense readings. That said only once in several years of use trouble shooting CNC machines and switch-mode power supplies did I have to switch to a Fluke hand-held DMM.Highly recommended.
