Title: The surface is flawed, but it doesnt affect its usefulness
Review: There is a thin plastic type layer that is the top protective surface, and its been peeling up since I first open the box. This is unfortunate, I haven’t needed to wash it yet, but that is likely to make the situation worse. Otherwise this is a great lap desk, comfortable and useful, on my lap and as a flat surface when laying down.

Title: Great for laptop use!
Review: Exactly what I was looking for. I work full time, and I’m in grad school, and I found that after sitting at a desk all day at the office I was reluctant to sit at my home desk in the evenings to do schoolwork. This lap desk allows me to comfortably use my laptop in the living room in my favorite chair – game changer! I got the space odyssey design and it’s so cute. This lap desk has the specific feature I was looking for: no “ledge” at the bottom. I just wanted a flat surface so I can position my laptop as close to me as I need, and at whatever angle I need, without a ledge getting in the way. The bottom is set up with two separate “channels” of cushioning which I like – I think if it were one big “bean bag” you would have to constantly adjust the filling, but here you don’t. When it first arrived I thought it looked too flat and was afraid it wouldn’t have enough of an angle, but once I sat in my chair and got it set up I realized it was perfect. Price is fantastic – way more affordable than similar items I looked at.

Review: I needed a small lap desk for the bedroom for when I’m writing in bed. I use a paper tablet called the Remarkable 2, and I sometimes sit in bed to write at night. This product exceeded my expectations. First off, the lap part uses tiny beads or beans, so it does contour to my legs well without being too hot. It features two rows of these, so there’s a lot of space for airflow. Second, there is a handle on the front for easy carrying. I can carry it with the handle while holding my phone and my tablet without worrying I will drop everything. Third, the front lap piece has a lot of space so I can clip my book light to the desk instead of having to clip it to the Remarkable.One thing-it’s glossy and shiny, so it might look like things slide on it. They don’t. My tablet does not slide around on it. Neither does my laptop. It’s very well-made, and I’m very happy with it. It’s also attractive and kind of girlie, so I don’t have to worry about my husband Bogarting it.

Title: So Much Nicer Than Older Versions of Sturdy Lap Desks!
Review: I bought the blue lap desk with the uplifting phrase and I’m impressed!I have to have sturdy lap desks because I’ve lost so many through the years from my very well-rounded kitties crawling up, putting all their weight on one paw, stepping down on the lap desk, and the desk breaking. This lap desk top is very sturdy and it is not possible for my cat to do this with how this one is made.Also, in the past to get a sturdy lap desk, it weighed quite a bit. Not true at all anymore. This one is incredibly light weight which makes it more comfortable to use – I work many days out of my house so I can use my lap desk for 8 to 12 hours in a day.And finally, I saw pictures posted by other people who bought the exact one I bought (blue with uplifting words) which showed the sides were all messed up. Mine came in pristine condition and looks beautiul.I think it’s a great purchase!

Review: Just arrived today and I am very happy with it so far. Nice and lightweight, and I love the design. For size comparison, that is a 13″ macbook air in the photo. Fits nicely with some extra space, so a larger laptop should fit okay.I saw some reviews on this lap desk, and other designs of it, that said the surface was slippery and a computer or ipad would fly off. That is not my experience. I did a tip test, and I could tilt the desk up a decent amount before my computer started slipping, much farther than I would ever tip it while using it.Fits comfortably in my lap sitting cross-legged, legs down, or reclining, and it’s very nice having the gap on the bottom to let air through.Update after using it a few times: the surface does get a bit more slippery after having a warm computer on it a few times, but still not so much that a device would go flying off without actually flinging the whole thing.
