Review: I’m no longer one who is taking care of parents, grandparents, friends, etc. I am now one of the elderly. And I commend those who do, rather than carting us over to the old folks home. One of the problems I’m currently having is getting up in the morning with a full bladder, and attempting to make it to the bathroom before the dam breaks. Trying to sit up without anything to assist me usually pressed my stomach muscles into my bladder which promptly began to release the liquids gathered in it during the night. This is all most embarrassing; even if it is your family trying to help you. Nothing is more distressing than urinating all over the floor, your clothes, and the bathroom. I hope that this review is not giving you TMI, but I now have this new device so that I can pull myself up with my arms and not put any pressure on my bladder. I am no small man… 270 to be exact… and having no more problems was getting up in the morning. The Medline bed assistance bar not only helps me sit up in the bed, it is sturdy enough to hold onto as I get my stability. It also positions me when I go to sit down because I sit just to the left of the bar, swing my feet around, and wind up in a perfect position for sleep. Prior to getting this , I rolled off the bed 3 times, but fortunately didn’t damage anything. Now, I can’t roll off because the assist bar hits right at my hip , making that almost impossible. Very sturdy, good instructions, and I installed it absolutely by myself. Pretty good or someone who has trouble lifting a fort knife or spoon. Whether you think you might need this but just aren’t quite ready to commit, consider it a luxury for now. Oh, I almost forgot about the pouch. It in can hold all your remotes, books, cell phone, tablet, glasses, and whatever else you need. I also hung my man bag around it. THIS WAS A WONDERFUL PURCHASE!!!

Title: Sturdy, exactly as shown, good instructions, been very useful
Review: I am very happy with this. My Mom is 85 and fell out of bed, so I got this for her. They put thought into assembling. Even if someone is older and a little confused they’d be able to figure it out. One spot had oval shaped holes so there’s no way to put the wrong part on. The instructions we were like verbal instructions, saying “Notice one row of holes is smaller and has 10 holes. On the other side there are 4 holes that are larger.” It helped me too! They have a strap the goes around the mattress for someone who may try to push the rail away. My Mom doesn’t need that, her weight on the bed keeps it in place perfectly well and I think he strap would annoy her to lay on. She said the rail helps her get out of bed. Both her rotator cuffs are injured so the rail being there has made it much easier. She also said she is sleeping better since she’s not afraid of falling. It’s sturdy, the pouch lets her keep her glasses and pone within an easy reach considering her shoulder issues – it has been exactly what we needed.

Review: Easy to install.I chose not to use the straps and have no issues but have a very thick pillow top mattress plus a 3 inch topper.I wish I had gotten this earlier!Not only does it help with getting out of bed, but helps with turning over onto my right side.I haven’t set up the night light as I already have one. I do like the extra pocket.Great Value!

Review: I wish I could give more than 5 stars!After a 6 week hospital stay, coming home felt great, but it was a hard transition not having the hospital bed.My bed was, of course, much more comfortable. But my injuries made it difficult to maneuver in a regular bed.Found this product by accident while looking for handles for the bathroom toilet.I’m so glad I did, bought it, my brother put it together for me, he said he was able to put it together quite easily. I have a queen size bed, he did install it with the safety straps to secure it to the opposite side of the bed frame.It fit well between the mattress and box spring and is very sturdy.I immediately felt more able to maneuver in bed, the bar also helps with sitting up and standing up.The bar alone makes this product amazing and well worth 5 stars.The addition of the storage pouch makes me wish I could give more stars. To have the close storage for a few essentials made this even better.I had my Mom sit and lay on my bed, and then use the bar to sit up and get out of bed. She was amazed at how easy it was to use and how much more comfortable she felt. (She is 83 and has arthritis in her wrists, so pushing up on the bed she said is so uncomfortable – but with the bar, she was able to avoid hyperextending her wrists).I have ordered another for my Mom already.Extremely happy with the purchase and so glad I found this item while doing s search for toilet seat rails.(Now if only I can be as lucky with those bars)Anyone with challenges moving around in bed, or with sitting up in bed, can benefit from this product.Side note: Please be sure you do have a bed with a traditional mattress and box spring though, as I’m not sure if it work with just a mattress on a platform.Addition: Both myself and my Mom now each have one on our beds, and have been using them for several months. I still use mine since it’s taking quite awhile for my leg & ankle to heal.My Mom has said it has made such a huge difference for her in regards to getting in and out of bed, as well as turning over onto her side.One of my best Amazon finds to date!

Review: This rail is solid and secure. I loved many of the features. First, my father has an old wooden frame bed with a spring base. We added a plywood board to give it more stability. Since there is no boxspring, many of the models with round tubular metal supports under the mattress would feel lumpy. This model has flat tubing which is not felt through his mattress. It also has a strap to wrap around the base or boxspring. The legs are adjustable which give added support. Finally, the basket is handy for anything you want close at hand. I am a physiotherapist who used to do home care. I would recommend this rail to others. Good value for a good product.

Review: We used this on a sofa bed for an elderly visitor. It worked very well and was easy to set up except we never found the arrow that’s supposed to tell you which way is up for the center frame. We figured it out when we put the handle in – if you have it the wrong way, the handle is too high. I’ve used supports like these before, and they didn’t have the legs or the strap… they were fine for a normal mattress but would not have worked for a sofa bed. This one is definitely the best design I’ve seen for the light, flexible mattress.
